I can't believe this was posted 12 hours ago and nobody had anything to say!

So, I will.

This is just unacceptable for me.  I like to have fun.  I like to talk to new people.  I like to roam around the ports.  I like a casino with available machines.  I like to dance.  I'm not a drinker or eater.  I can't sit in a corner with a good book either.

My life is far from majestic due to the limitations on my normal routine here....but, considering what I'm paying for my upcoming April cruise....if these policies are in force at final payment date....I could really have more fun at home (despite the limitations) with the money that won't be spent on the cruise.

I know there will be people who won't have a problem with "the rules" and I wish them a "bon voyage".

The problem is the people who do have a problem with the rules and go anyway, waiting until they get onto the ship where they behave as if the rules don't apply to them.

The ship will feel even bigger with less people. I can't wait to check that out!

Larger smoking section😀

I will miss roaming the ports but walking around in a mask would leave terrible tan lines.

If it suits your needs...go for it.

I doubt they would allow smoking at all, since you have to exhale....lol.

You are right tabbykats, a lot of land base casinos are not letting people smoke in the casino. they have to leave and go outside.

Great response and I agree - sadly this is not cruising that I  Iike - so as they say in the UK TV programme Dragons Den I am out! but for those that want to wear a nappy on their face and be fleeced for CCL cruise tours and not talk to anyone on the ship go for it. I will stay on a land based holiday for the moment and wait for normality

I expect NCL will follow the same approach

This infomercial was pretty superficial and did not provide any valuable information. Image-wise, a temperature screen, mask protocols, and social distancing. Same as in most places.

So, this is the new norm for a long time to come. If it is incompatible with your idea of “fun” then it is definitely not for you.

We have been to Vegas twice and to beach resorts twice since “reopening”. All requiring trips on airplanes (some of which were completely full).  The protocols there are not to dissimilar to what was in the video. Masks while inside. Restaurants reminding you to keep your mask on unless you are actively eating or drinking. Social distancing on the casino floor (kinda,,, well may be not so much). Masks while on the boardwalk (better put sunscreen on, else get a mask tan).

We had fun and enjoyed every minute. We ware a mask all day at work. We gab hand sanitizer every time we move about at work. Doing it while on vacation just help mitigate the risk of COVID (does not prevent it).

My guess is that this will be the initial health protocol to restart the cruise industry until a vaccine becomes available. The rules will then be revised and relaxed as required from there. It is good starting point and one MSC has been doing successfully so far.

The airlines had similar problems with people trying to game the system. Those people are now finding themselves on the no-fly list, licking their ice cream in an airport terminal.

I just flew to Detroit and back in the last week.  I saw two people in the gate area in Detroit that had their masks under their noses.  An airline employee walked up and reminder them how to wear them properly and mentioned that violations could result in their reservation being cancelled.  They pulled their masks up.

Our recent trip to Cancun was terrific from start to finish. Yes, we had to wear masks on the airplane and when not eating or drinking in the restaurants. Outside by the pool and at the beach, no masks necessary for guests. Plenty of hand sanitizer, temperature checks upon arrival and when coming back to the resort after going into town. We felt totally safe AND we had a great, carefree time. I'm not sure, but it seems like many who say "I'm out" are not understanding that it's not an either/or choice. You can have a fun vacation and also do so safely. I watched several videos and read online accounts of people in Italy on the MSC Grandiosa who reported that safety protocols were followed to the letter AND they thoroughly enjoyed their vacations. I don't know why people are so quick to write off cruising because of how they THINK it will be (as opposed to how it actually is).
