international/domestic baggage

Hi,

Have an interesting question - our cruise will leave from San Juan, PR - a US territory, hence a domestic flight.  However, our return is from Manaus, Brazil, an international flight.  Is the entire  itinerary considered international (hence one bag free), or just the return trip?  Thanks

Since you don't indicate if you have Viking Air (free bags) or the airline you are using, it would be best to check with the airlines.

Cleveland rocks!

Now, what was the interesting the question?

Let's assume no Viking Air, and Viking likes to use Delta out of Cleveland.  I know this question could hold for any trip where one part of the trip is domestic and the other is international, but since most of our international travel is on Viking...

My interesting question: what will be the Browns record this season?  Go Browns!

In our experience, the baggage allowance is based on each departure and is based on the departure airline's, class on service, membership status and route.

When joining the WC we flew Vancouver to Los Angeles on Air Canada we were limited by their baggage limits, which was 2 bags of up to 70 lbs.

On the return flight we were booked with British Airlines, so expected to have 3 bags each of up to 70 lbs, but due to the pandemic, only Air Canada were flying, so we were limited by their limits of 2 bags.

On our Round the World flights in 2015, for each departure, our baggage limits were set by the airline that we checked in with.

Although we don't fly Delta, in our experience the domestic flight will receive a different baggage allowance from the international return. If airline excess baggage fees are excessive, you can also check with luggage forwarding companies.
