Now I'm going to have to try and get to where I can try this poutine. See what this thread has taught me? Idk that its sold in texas lol, but ya never know. Maybe only canada?

@firefly333 when we cruise together Dec 2021 on Liberty I will make sure to bring along genuine cheese curds I get from Whole Foods and we will make proper poutines from scratch in the windjammer.  I promise you won't be disappointed. 🙂

In keeping with her vocabulary, like fraidy-cat, boo-boo, cooties, upsy-daisy, tattle and goody-goody-gumdrops.

I envision she will start talking like Barnie The Purple Dinosaur or Laa-Laa from Teletubbies TV shows any day now.

Well I like potatoes, though curds from curdled milk sound a bit wierd.

I see you and bee on first name basis now, she just calls you tree.

If you're near Houston, you will find poutine places.  You can also get poutine kits via mail order.  If you're ever in Ft. Lauderdale pre-cruise, there are a few Canadian restaurants in the area that serve it.

No plans to be near houston unless my cruise goes in april.

I'm north of dallas almost into oklahoma, and we got oklahoma weather these past few days, miserable though it stayed above freezing. Raining non stop new years eve and 36 degrees, so pleasant. No wonder I'm thinking condo time in cocoa beach. Even a hotel lol. We will see what happens to my april cruise before I decide. I can be over the border of OK in less than a hour.

While you're picking up the curds, you may also want to grab a defibulator cause as good as Poutine is, it will stop you heart.😂

My last blood test indicated slightly above normal cholesterol but not shockingly so.  I'm hoping that my return to the gym since then has changed that.  It is unlikely I'm going to eat better so I need to work harder. 😇

After 9 months of staying home and being a couch potato I need to have  a physical.  SERIOUSLY - when I get the results back I think I will probably say WOOPSIE and  ask the doctor if that's why lately I've been feeling so BLOATED?  He will put me on a strict diet and I will be CRANKY and tell him he's just a MEANIE.  REALLY!

I'm still having trouble with the curds and the idea of curdled milk, hmmm, though I love potatoes

My mom's C&A# was linked to someone else's account. When I filled out her Set Sail for her first cruise, it populated with a C&A number. I called them and he asked if she lived in Plano, TX. I said no, and supposedly he removed it.

When I set up her C&A account the following year, she was already Platinum with 5 cruises which included our Serenade cruise and also one on Sovereign. We never even sailed on Sovereign! :classic_rolleyes:

Since mom is gone now, I think it doesn't matter and her linkee can enjoy the extra points if she is still cruising herself. :classic_biggrin::classic_tongue: Probably not, if she was near my mom's age.

I've never eaten a cheese curd, and I don't think I plan on ever eating one.

Curds & whey is cottage cheese.

I used to work summers in a cheese processing facility. We used both of those.

Cheese curds are delicious.  Very salty

I don't eat cottage cheese either. I can't get past the appearance.

But I do like frosting on my cakes and cupcakes. (Unlike some others) :classic_tongue::classic_tongue:

I have tried to explain to my husband why I am laughing at my computer several times since this thread started, actually since the thread-that-shall-not-be-named was alive. Finally I can tell him it's like Seinfleld, and he gets it! Thanks for the laughs everyone! Happy New Year, everyone!

And to you! The laughter has been contagious -- glad you enjoyed the collective humor! I certainly have and it has gotten me through some dark Covid moments!  Let's hope 2021 proves to be a much better year with lots of cruising in store.

Do you know which ones? Not sure I will try it, but in case I get the urge one of these days.

That's the problem I'm having. Anything curdled sounds gross to me.

The best one I can think of is Diary Belle in Dania Beach.  Before the Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach got rid of the flea market on their grounds, there was a great food truck that served poutine everyone raved about. Turns out all those vendors moved to the Yellow Green Farmer's Market in Hollywood.
