Some ideas for a day in Lisbon

Recommended Posts

We have never had Lisbon as a port stop despite multiple Med cruises.

We have spent several days in Lisbon on a land tour.   You can easily spend an enjoyable day in the city itself.  We spent several.

We also did this one day.  Not sure when your ship docks.  We started at 9AM at the train station.  This is a day tour that I believe we found in a Rick Steves book.

-train from Lisbon to Sintra.  Very short commuter trip.  Toured the castle-easy walk from the train station.

-bus from Sintra (bus station is behind the train station as I recall) to Cape Roca..the most westerly point in Europe.  We walked around a little.  (I believe we got a bus ticket to Cascais that allowed us to stop it Cape Roca-you can always skip the Cape Roca stop since is not that big a deal)

-bus (45 minutes later) from Cape Roca to Cascais.  Spent a few very enjoyable hours wandering around.

-train back to Lisbon (commuter trains run frequently).

It was a very nice day.  The distances are short.
