puppycanducruise Posted December 5, 2020 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2020 Good morning, thanks for the Daily. You're up early today. It seems like everyday is Blue Jeans Day. A big thank you to Volunteers everywhere. Repeal Day, mmm, I think that's the day my grandfather stopped "running" whisky over the river from Sarnia to Detroit. Great quote. I'll pass on the old casserole suggestion, but I'm interested to reading about the punch and the wine. Have a wonderful day. Stay safe.
rafinmd Posted December 5, 2020 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2020 Thank you for the Daily, Rich. I haven't worn blue jeans for years. Great to remember the end of a failed experiment, lots of rejoicing this day in 1933. A big salute to all our volunteers, Crusin Single comes to mind. I resemble that quote. I assume there's a bit of a typo in the meal suggestion; Turkey cassarole sounds interesting. My alternative is Chilled Rhubarb Soup, New York Strip Loin, and Mango Blueberry Crisp, as served on the Prinsendam December 5, 2013. Today's care list: Mrs Vmax with radiation looming Caregiver Gsel and her DH battling Alzheimers durangoscots, her niece, and niece’s daughter on the November 29 death of her niece’s husband. kazu Posted December 5, 2020 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2020 Thanks for the Daily, Rich and our morning smile 🙂 Happy Saint Nicholas eve day @sailingdutchy@Copper10-8 & all other CC friends who celebrate it. I’ll celebrate blue jean day in black jeans 😉 and salute all of our volunteers. So much is achieved thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who give so much of themselves. LOL on the quote. I’ll pass on the meal suggestion and opt for stuffed chicken breast instead. Never heard of the drink of the day. Looking forward to the description. DH braved Costco the other day to get something we really needed (not toilet paper 😉 ) and got out as fast as he could. Some people had carts loaded down with TP which made me ask: Prayers for those on Roy’s Care list & those that need them and a toast to everyone on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Saturday everyone. Stay safe and please don’t forget your masks 😷
summer slope Posted December 5, 2020 #6 Share Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) Good morning dailyites. Thank you Rich and Roy for all your hard work. I appreciate the comfort this thread brings me each day. Still wear blue jeans some of the cold days, can enjoy Repeal day at the bar on a blue hulled beauty. And did some volunteer work before the virus. Some days I wish I knew where I left my mind. Will skip the menu. StLouisCruisers Posted December 5, 2020 #7 Share Posted December 5, 2020 Yay for Repeal Day! Otherwise we would have no fun at Happy Hour. We'd all have Unhappy Hours. No jeans unless I leave the house. Remember the stretchy waist pants day? That's what I wear around the house which is where I am most of the time. Sad to see so many items on the Care List but an equal number of Celebrations List makes me feel a little better. Today's stocking belongs to my second grandchild who was a Millennial Baby. Her due date was December 31, 1999 but she came on January 4, 2000 instead. I must have known she was going to be an angel!
Seasick Sailor Posted December 5, 2020 #8 Share Posted December 5, 2020 Good morning Rich. Thank you for the Daily. Hugs to Callie. Good morning to my sisters Denise and Ann. Deeni you get your stitches out today? Love you girls! Good morning Roy, summer, Ann, Helen, and everyone else who contributes to our Daily. The boozy grinch punch sounds pretty, well, boozy! I like turkey casserole and may just make that tonight. Prayers for all on Roy's list and cheers and a toast to shout outs. Roy I am glad to see you put you and your brother back on the cares list. I have put off washing our inside windows long enough, so that will be my project for today. Oops, while I was typing I saw summers drink recipe and will pass. Kool-Aid?? Wishing for everyone to remain vigilante and patient. Help is coming! Let's hope and pray 2021 is healthier, calmer, our Senate and President gets straightened out. Have a great weekend.

(I'm pretty sure vodka serves the same function as bleach in clearing out COVID virus, am I right??) I'm getting a haircut today, woo woo!! Probably my last outing until we (hopefully) drive to Florida to see my parents and sister and BIL. It's short enough that we can drive it safely (minimal stopping).

TiogaCruiser Posted December 5, 2020 #13 Share Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) Good Morning All, And it’s Saturday. Our winds calmed night before last, with another round predicted for next week. Firefighters are getting control of the blaze and many who were evacuated were allowed back in yesterday. I thought this video was interesting in showing how spread out a wildfire can be. Have always thought of those cohesive lines of tall flames they show in the news, so this is a different perspective. As of yesterday it was 30% contained. Due to the rural nature of the area, counts on lost property is not yet available. (This wasn’t a tract home area.) When the Santa Ana winds started the utility company shut off power to prevent a fire. This left residents without phone service, and so people did not get warnings. The fire reportedly started as a house fire.😥 Edited December 5, 2020 by TiogaCruiser
ger_77 Posted December 5, 2020 #14 Share Posted December 5, 2020 Good morning, thanks for the Daily! At our house, every day is blue jeans day; DH only started wearing them about 10 years ago when he realized they weren't the super rough denim he used to wear growing up on the farm. Even now at the ripe old age of "much older than me", he still loves them. Thank goodness for your 21st Amendment; imagine being on a "dry" ship. LOL @richwmnwe'll be having turkey casserole in a few weeks, but I'd gladly switch that today for @rafinmd's alternate menu. I've had the Chilled Rhubarb Soup, and can still remember the tangy-sweet flavour. Unfortunately, we don't have any rhubarb in the house, so it looks like tonight will be perogies, air-fried garlic sausage and a side salad for dinner. And wine. @cruisemom42 - like you, I was won over with the 2 cups vodka. @Seasick SailorI'm pretty sure the Kool Aid is for flavour and colour; you could always leave it out and still have a great punch. I'd love to make this one in the summer. Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do. Raising the wine glass to toast all on the celebration list tonight. Stay safe, be well, wear your mask and wash your hands. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry

Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating. Stay well everyone! ******* Dr Heidemanns Riesling Qba 2018 This German Riesling was not an easy one to learn about. Quartzsite Cruiser Posted December 5, 2020 #21 Share Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) Good morning from chilly but sunny south western Arizona. In the winter, I live in blue jeans, and in the summer it's blue jean shorts. Hats off to all who volunteer. Lastly, I'll drink a glass or two of wine later to celebrate Repeal Day. Made a start yesterday on decorating the cookies, but ran out of icing. We work more on them today, and probably won't finish until tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get the ones to DDs in the mail Monday or Tuesday. Lucklly, I got the Christmas cards mailed Monday, which was very early for me. Here are a couple of pictures of the cookies. The first one is a new twist on food porn. It'd of naked cookies. Can't believe I was up early enough to make the first page! was Hope everyone has a healthy and safe day.
