[THREAD] Tracking Princess ship movements and restarts (Winter 2020 onwards)

Having been inspired by the work done on HAL's forum to check up on where ships are, I've decided to create this new thread to observe the impending restart of Princess ships and where those ships now are in light of the current circumstances. As we know, Princess ships are already on the move back to tentatively scheduled homeports for spring & summer 2021, if they're not already in their respective regions.

Re: specific test cruise dates

In THIS webinar for travel agents on December 10John Chernesky (SVP of Princess North America Sales & Trade Marketing) said that he could not provide any specific dates for test cruises but suggested that they might happen sometime right before their intended restart (meaning in March 2021 so that they can restart in April 2021). He made an effort to reiterate that he was unsure so nothing was set in stone.

To commemorate the return of cruise ships from Carnival Corp (but specifically the Holland America Group, which includes Princess) to the West Coast, here's a clip from the first of the ships, ms Nieuw Amsterdam, which arrived in Los Angeles at around 7AM Pacific time today, the 16th.

(sourced from the live cam at the Port of LA; video is sped up 12x)

I know this might seem a little futile or boring but other than wait or mope, at least this should keep some hope alive. I will only update the map and tables when the ships are showing obvious movement, so there won't be daily updates. But I will keep an eye on the ships arriving these next few days/weeks.

Let's keep the updates centralized in this thread and (cautiously) anticipate what's in store for Princess cruising!
If you've spoken to a crew member(s) onboard or that is slated to go back, let us know!

If you've found what you think are credible details, please share!

Thanks for sharing this post.  Yes I will be sailing Caribbean Princess and she is in Port Everglades;  it is so nice to see the ships coming back.  Now the wait begins.  Merry Christmas to all

Absolutely BRILLIANT idea for a thread. Thanks very much for thinking of doing this and putting the data together in one place. Much appreciated!!

We too are on a cruise out of PE (CB on 4/18) and are excited to see the current fleet movement.

MODS, CAN THIS BE PINNED?

Thank you so much for creating this thread.  For a long while I was keeping track of which Princess ships were where on the maritime map but after awhile stopped.  So nice to see this updated.  I am in San Diego and plan to go down to the port here to see the Emerald on the 24th if that schedule is kept.  Won't be there when she sails in but will go down later in the day to just see her.  It will be almost like old times.

Here's a video of Caribbean Princess sailing out. I know Celebrity ships have been in and out of the port over the past few months, but this was the first sail-out I actually watched live and it felt surreal as I reminisced about when I used to eagerly watch ships pile in and out every week, brimming with waving guests.

Yes!! This sounds amazing and I'm glad you're able to do this for us. It will be interesting to see a Princess ship on the West Coast again after what feels like years. Thanks again for sharing.

If anyone is able to conveniently and safely visit a local port and would like to share any images or videos, that would be amazing. As much as this is a thread that tries to house details we've learned about operation resumption, this is also a ship-spotting thread! (I mean we all like to physically see ships too, right?)

Post a picture on this thread when it gets here!! Also would love to see the Ruby ..... 2 of my future cruises are on it

Emerald, Grand, Majestic,  Royal, and Ruby are listed for West Coast. Are they all staying here? (Ruby coming to SF)
