polkadottedladiebugg Posted December 18, 2020 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) Hi there, we are looking to book on the Enchanted for 2022. Just wondering if anyone has stayed on the Sun Deck? What was your experience like? Any room recommendations? We've been on two other Princess cruises, once staying in the front facing balconies on the Lido deck on the Regal and the other, right in the back in the aft facing ones on the Baja deck on the Sky. We are debating trying the Sun Deck or going back to a Lido room. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated 😉 Edited December 18, 2020 by polkadottedladiebugg clarification
nini Posted December 19, 2020 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2020 What exactly are your questions and concerns? It looks like that there are no bow or aft balconies, however, those rooms are very close to the Retreat Pool and hot tubs. side balconies on that deck are small as on the Lido deck. Of course, on the Lido deck you could have a bow balcony which is very large (although limited view if seated).
AtlantaCruiser72 Posted December 19, 2020 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2020 Rooms S205-225 and S204-224 have floor to ceiling glass walls opposite the cabin doors that give a full view of the retreat pool and make the hallway very open and bright. From cabin photos I've seen of the Sky Princess on the cruise deckplans dot com website the Sun deck balconies appear a decent depth (possibly a little deeper than some lower decks), though not sure if they are completely covered by the Sky deck above (open deck space). As with any cabins high and forward you will potentially feel more motion.
skynight Posted December 20, 2020 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2020 Sun deck balconies will be 9' x 4', same as other standard balconies. The balconies are covered by the sky deck. There will be some activity on the sky deck with lounge chairs, the sanctuary. The inside corridor wall on the Sky Princess between the hall and the Retreat Pool is glass. Assume it will be the same on the Enchanted. You can see a picture at minute 1:56 in this video: https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ships/yp-sky-princess/ We always like to select a cabin with cabins on the deck above and below our cabin. nini Posted December 20, 2020 #5 Share Posted December 20, 2020 We really prefer a balcony deeper than 4 ft. As skynight states, we select a cabin that does not have a public area above or below. There are some exceptions though.
