I know I am probably one of the few who feel the Quantum class has more to do and the genie comes in handy. He sets up the iFly times, gets you on the bumper cars when ever you want and then the typical meals, shows, gets you in front to leave for excursions. I found in Oasis class there was not as much for the genie to do so we tipped less but I think the going rate is about $400 for the time you are on board, unless it would be over 8 days. I agree with this. While I find the O class suites to be far superior to the Q class suites, I find the services of the Genie to be more important on the Q class (particularly if you have children to entertain) than on O class. I guess I’ve been lucky b/c I’ve never had a dud Genie but experience also helps. Knowing what to ask for or knowing what you want is important. Isn't this what the concierge normally does anyway?

The Concierge does not personally escort you and your children to the front of the lines for bumper cars or reserve your seats at the shows and stand around and wait for you to show up, then get everyone in your party a drink.
Free Water Posted January 28, 2021 #79 Share Posted January 28, 2021 We've only been on one cruise and I'm not an expert. We stayed in a Grand Suite on Mariner. We had no clue what the tipping protocol is for the lounge attendants or the concierge, so we tipped as we would at any club level on land. We tipped our server for bringing our drinks as we left the lounge each night. After the first night, he'd bring us bottles of water with our drinks without us even having to ask for them. We tipped the concierge $20 on our last day as she was escorting us off the ship. Within minutes I regretted that I undertipped her. She was very attentive to my family and very helpful in providing information to first timers. On port days, she would have us meet her in the lounge and then she would escort us down to Deck 2 (?) and get us off the ship first. She was not afraid to throw elbows to get us to the front of the line either. Maybe that's what all concierges do, but we sure thought it was special. I really wished I had tipped her more, and I'm not sure why I handed her a $20 except that's my habit. And it's probably all the cash I had left in wallet at that point. Whenever we get to cruise again, I will be prepared to tip the concierge more if he/she is as amazing as the person we had in the summer of '19.
Bailey & Sophie Posted January 28, 2021 #80 Share Posted January 28, 2021 We've stayed in suites, but no genie. I think the only thing I would use a genie for is to turn the page on the book I'm reading. 1

It was good. Quiet and we enjoyed the aft balcony as it was on a Baltic cruise. Meaning the ship cruised slowly and we always seemed to be able to see a shoreline. Having said that, some say this GS is not as large as the others. although the balcony was really nice. I guess what we enjoyed most about it was there was no wind on that balcony which was really nice.

AF-1 Posted January 29, 2021 #89 Share Posted January 29, 2021 (edited) Hogbay; I found the concierge lounge on Jewel; its on deck 13 next to the Diamond Club; part of Skywalkers. That sure is quite a hike just to visit the lounge Edited January 29, 2021 by AF-

Slightly odd shape but very cool ,balcony wasn’t as large as some aft, but this corner aft had great views. We got some exercise since it wasn’t close to the elevator . Ship has the best concierge lounge we have ever seen, large with a real bar and outside area. Concierge and his staff were just the best.

AF-1 Posted January 30, 2021 #93 Share Posted January 30, 2021 Great George C. I appreciate feedback. I am facinated how the different cruise lines provide different suite perks to the passengers. Having sailed Royal Caribbean exclusively for 15 years; I thought they treated suite guests very well. Then I sailed NCL Haven and got a different perspective. The past four years I have been with Princess in suites and it's the small things they do to keep their suite guests happy; that makes the difference to me

But recently have been doing celebrity and MSc yacht club which has better perks for sure love suite restaurant on Celebrity and that all celebrity ships have suite restaurant and there lounge is never crowded with free drinks all day and night , if you don’t like scotch selection they will most likely get the brand for you. But love rccl entertainment.
