Inserting a Count Down Ticker from Cruise-Ships.com into signature?

Hi,

 

I am trying to insert a dynamic count down ticker from Cruise-Ships.com into my signature.   I can paste in a PNG file but that is not dynamic (updates days left).

 

I tried inserting the link provided on cruise-ships.com for Cruise Critic, but that either just comes in as text, or if you use the URL link then it is just a regular link.

Make sure you copy/pase the last link on the list shown as 

PseudoHTML, UBBCode or BBCode
Use for CruiseCritic.com and similar board signatures

I did just try copying and pasting the URL that was below the text you mentioned, unfortunately it just comes in as the URL text, not as the picture of the ship with the countdown.

To insert a picture using a url, use the Other Media link, lower right corner of the edit.

Thanks,  I tried using the "Other Media link" and when I insert any of the three different formats the space for inserting them turns pink (presumably a rejection/error message) and then nothing happens.

You are right, it doesn't work. The link is good and one can include it in a post. Unfortunately cc will not pull the image referenced by the url using the Other Media Inset Image from URL option.

Thanks..... Good to know that this was not just user error!  Any suggestions for other countdown timers to use?

Here are a few I found via Google:

Daisypath 

TickerFactory

TimeLeft This one is a little window that sits on your desktop without taking any extra working space and shows you how much time is left till some event.

 

Also, check your cruise line's website. They may have countdowwn clocks available.

 

Hope you find one that will be satisfactory and will work for you on Cruise Critic.

Has anyone found a solution to this?  I used to be able to use ones I created using TickerFactory.com.  In fact, my last one from a previous cruise was still working.  I deleted it to replace it with a new one and can't get any image to come up now.  Only html text shows up 😞 ... 

 

UPDATE: use 'Other Media' stated above with the 'ticker web address' from the Ticker site.  Thank you!
