COVID-19 testing Genova??

Hey

We are traveling to Milan 24/4, but the ship isn’t leaving until 28/4. Then the test we are taking in Denmark not working. What do we do?

MSC will do the test (for everyone) upon boarding (even if you have an existing test certificate you will be tested again).  

 

In case you need a test to return to Denmark after the cruise, MSC were also offering this to German customers (that you get tested again as you disembark) so maybe is offered for everyone.

 

Be aware that if you test positive in Italy you will be required to quarantine (in a government location if you don't live there) until you can return 2 negative tests.

Bit it say here that we need to show a test max 72 hours old

MSC requires non-Italian residents to have a test within 72 hours of embarkation, then MSC will test you again at embarkation.  To avoid a quarantine you will need the negative test results before entering Italy.  But because you arrived four days before embarkation to meet the MSC requirement you will need to get another test once in Milan or Genoa.

oops - sorry.  I thought the procedures would be the same as for Germany, but didn't realize Denmark was a risk area.

 

If I was in your position I would wait and see what happens to the infection rate in Demark in April.

Please note that travelers * arriving from countries classified as "Risk Areas" by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) must perform an RT-PCR swab test within 72 hours of the ship's departure have to. The test result must be printed out in duplicate and presented at the terminal upon embarkation. The list of risk countries based on the guidelines of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control can be found here. Our guests are welcome to check the list regularly for the latest updates. The test is not required for guests under 6 years of age.

For departures from January 31 to February 6, 2021 including: Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. (As of January 18, 2021)
