Question on cancelling cruise procedure when booked directly with Princess.

We have only cancelled a couple cruises in our years of cruising, and they have been booked through travel agents.

A form was required to be filled out then scanned and sent back to the travel agent after letting them know we wanted to cancel.

I hope NOT to cancel any more cruises, but wondered the procedure when booked directly with Princess.  Does

cancelling involve the same kind of form after calling Princess, or is it just verbal?

Thank you for any information.

Do you work with a Princess PVP or have contact info for one? If so, it's as easy as shooting off and email to the PVP. I've only ever canceled through my PVP, so I don't know if there's anything else you need to do if you just call them to cancel.

I just called the main Princess phone number to book so no Princess PVP.   So far I have been very happy with booking directly with Princess.

I have never been asked for a form when I have cancelled cruises either thru a TA nor directly with Princess.  My guess is your TA just wants a paper trail in case there is a problem in the future.

Other than three times, when we used online travel agencies to book, we have booked direct with Princess.  I like the control we have over our bookings.  It is easy to re-fare or cancel.  No middle man, no paper work, no extra time delay or possible confusion in the communication.  Just pick up the phone and call Princess and tell them you wish to cancel.

Have done it and it is straightforward.

Like others, I've done it by calling and cancelling verbally.  They of course send a follow-up email confirming its cancelled.

Just a word of... not warning, but a good to know... every time I cancel, the try to book my on another cruise.  Not in a pushy way, just more of a "Oh, we understand that this may not work for you, have you thought of another time you'd like to cruise instead?"
