How is MSC handling safety drills on their current sailings?

Recommended Posts

I wonder if anyone knows how MSC is handling onboard passenger safety drills on their sailings currently operating in Europe.  The drills have always been my least favorite part of cruising.  It would be wonderful if Covid forced changes to the drill proceedures.

As I understand it, they have to go to the station, afrer atching the safety video, and have their cards scanned. Proves they have (a) watched the video and (b) know where the assembly station is.

Does it prove someone watched the video though ? Assembly stations are on the back of the cabin doors.

If you don't get the code to punch in until after the video, it would force passengers to watch.  This makes so much more sense than the previous drill process.  By the time the staff got to the third language, no one was paying attention.  By watching a video, folks could listen without distranction.

I suppose it doesn't! At least they know where their Assembly Station is! 😊
