Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line to Donate Food

It says it’s offloading food from the Grand Classica. Makes you wonder why the Classica would have so many provisions on a ship that hasn’t sailed over a year. Maybe the Classica is in her way out too.

To offer a more hopeful view based on what little work I have done in a local food pantry, many foods have an expiration date that if the food is not used, but is given to an organization like a food pantry just prior to its expiration date:  that food can be used.  If the expiration date for the food item has passed, we discard it.

(It's a "pain in the neck" to have to check each can/box, etc. even to try to find such a date!)
