Are there booking discounts for RCI Diamond members on Celebrity?

Recommended Posts

I understand there is a 'status match' type thing between Celebrity and Royal Caribbean but does that include and discount on the original cost of a trip at booking stage?

Thank you

Occasionally Celebrity does offer promotions with discounts for certain cruises for Captains Club members.

You may want to contact Captains Club and give them your C&A numbers to get registered as Captains Club members.   Diamond reciprocates as Elite so once you had CC numbers you would be eligible for these promotions at the Elite discount if they are offered again.

But there is no standard discount like the balcony discount.   There is also the 1 category upgrade which allows you to book a room at the price of 1 sub category lower.   This is usually a discount in the $20-$50 range at best.    For example book a 2C cabin at 2D price.  There are quite a few restrictions on this program but make sure to ask whomever is booking for you.

There is currently a Captain's Club promo that discounts the fare for a Galapagos cruise for Elites: "As one of our valued Captain’s Club members at the Elite tier or above, you can save $500 on ocean view staterooms and $1,000 on suites."

There was a promotional offer that discounted the fare of certain cruises, and the discount varied with CC level. It said "Now through March 31, take advantage of our lowest rate—plus savings of up to 10%* on select sailings from January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022 in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, South America, and beyond when you book a veranda stateroom or above. Classic and Select members will save 5%—and Elite, Elite Plus and Zenith members save 10%, excluding taxes and fees." It can still be found on the Celebrity site:

While posting about an expired promo might seem counterproductive, I have seen Celebrity renew or honor promos that are still posted. But my real point is that there are sometimes offers that do discount the cost to book based on loyalty status. As others have said, there seem to be no standard discounts of this type.

Oh, and Captain's Club members also get this: "One pre-cruise category upgrade up to AquaClass® (based on availability)". So depending on what cabin you're looking for, it acts like a discount.
