41-day honeymoon for 26 year olds? Regent for us?

Nobody has mentioned that with Regent Business class air is included. There is no way I would fly economy to Europe. As to age difference. We have met plenty of young people on Regent. Usually they are traveling with grandparents. There is also the entertainment group and they are all and sociable.

Besides, being on your honeymoon you want to spent time alone and who cares about the age of other passengers. If you like to go to a disco late at night, Regent is not for you. If you want the show and a night cap before retiring or dancing till midnight, Regent is fine. I don't think there is any comparison between food at Regent and Celebrity. Besides, Regent will prepare your favorite dishes as long as you give them 24 hours. All the cabins in Regent are suites. I will never go back to a balcony cabin in a mainstream line. So, it's a decision for you to make.

Thanks everyone for y’all’s thoughts!!
& with flights, hotel, excursion Celebrity will be more expensive but that’s if we go with most basic Regrnt suite. I’ll look at penthouse prices and see how it works out.
I’m thinking regent is a better value.
But we’re both concerned that regent won’t have much to do in daily activities.

i really wish we could do a shorter cruise to try it first because we wanted a  month long honeymoon.
I’m honestly considering pushing our month long trip back till we can try a few lines so when we take the big trip we’ll know what cruise line to take. We’re not interested in land. Vacation right now. Also I’ve attempted to get a travel agent but they’re so hard to find!
bottom line, I’m. So unsure & overthink things.
we don’t mind an older clientele & we’re not big drinkers or party types. Frankly, we would like a lot of activities we can observe.
i need to keep researching clearly...

side note.. thanks for the well wishes. We were married the March 2020 then COVID hit & hubby got deployed.

Congratulations and best wishes for your future!

We brought our college-age daughter with us on three Regent cruises and she had a lot of fun.  BUT:  they were short Caribbean cruises, which are more casual and tend to attract a bit younger passenger, they were port-intensive so there were no days at sea to spend on the ship, and it was during university holidays and there were a few other people her age on board. The dancers and singers were mostly in their mid to upper 20s and socialized a bit with the younger passengers.

A transatlantic cruise will be very sedate for you, which you might enjoy or get bored with after a couple of days at sea.  There are always things to do during the day, like trivia, movies on demand in your suite, occasional lectures, and of course evening entertainment and shows.  And of course comparing the menus for the wonderful restaurants and trying to decide where to dine that evening.

Please add in all the extras you will need to pay for on Celebrity.  Regent offers so much:  business class flights included,  no tipping, pre-cruise hotel stay, transfers to the hotel and ship and back to airport, all food and all drinks included (except $$ wine and alcohol), and etc.

Good luck on your decision.

Both my sons started sailing on Regent with us in their teens.  They are now 30 and 35.  Both married.  Still love sailing on regent.  Neither are particularly social butterflies, but one of my daughter in laws is and she has a fine time.

It really is a judgement call on your part.  You just have to remember its an older group, without the same goals as you may have.  It’s a nice line, but its not an party cruise period.  Which is why we cruise thins type of line.

The elevator music is the most current music you will hear on the ship.

My 30-year old son and his new similarly-aged wife just got back from their Honeymoon cruise on Windstar in Tahiti. The trip was our gift to them and we picked Windstar, in part (ahem…, Paul Gauguin cancelled on us) because there is usually a younger crown on Windstar. Well…They we’re by far the youngest couple on board. They made some nice friends who are in their 60’s (our age), refreshed their Hearts skills, plays some board games and pretty much had a really good time. My son’s quote, “we made some old friends.”

Thank goodness Windstar  has their water sports platform—I think the kids spent a lot of time there.  Bottom line: with the right attitude you can make just about anything a good experience. I’m sure they would have enjoyed Regent too and we plan to take them with us one of these days.

For a honeymoon, I cannot imagine a better experience than Regent.  Business Class air, Pre Cruise 4 or 5 star hotel, NO nickel and diming onboard, wide variety of excursions at every port (many of which are appealing to 26 year olds), great food, and excellent service with luxurious accommodations and surroundings.  As someone mentioned in a previous post, you have an adventurous day at each port and then return to the plush and relaxing atmosphere of the ship.  I was 56 years old during my last Regent cruise and my wife and I commented how much fun our boys (20 somethings) would have had if they had been with us.  Don't know you and have never met you, however; I can without reservation recommend Regent for a honeymoon cruise.

Congratulations and if you do choose Regent, I look forward to your assessment on this board when you return.

I might avoid another cruise line out of an abundance of caution because Pcarded might be on your ship.  He's enough of a "downer" to ruin a cruise for everyone.

Strange - I am usually accused of being a Regent cheerleader and it's even been suggested that I am schilling for Regent to raise the stock price. Maybe you just don't get my sense of humor...

I have never cruised on Regent but have a cruise planned with my in-laws in May.  I expect an older crowd. I am looking forward to trying something new.

We are late 50's.  We have cruised a few times with my in-laws  on  Oceania in the past. The food was excellent.   The evenings were boring.  The shows were the quality of an 8th grade talent show.  I was shocked how bad the shows were.  But for a honeymoon...  not sure if you plan to attend the shows.

I have cruised NCL Haven many times and I enjoyed the experience.  The Haven area is wonderful!  The rest of the ship can be hectic.  My mother in law got pushed on the stairs and spent the last 3 days in bed on our last cruise Jan. 2020.  The Haven butler kept her ice packs coming.  The shows on NCL are also really good.  Food was OK, not great.  The Haven restaurant was very good and catered you special needs.

I have also cruised Royal Caribbean many times.  I would recommend a suite!  But for a real treat for a honeymoon I would recommend going star class and getting a Genie room.  All your wishes are granted, seats in show rooms are saved for you.  Reservations and activities are planned for you.  Every meal, restaurant, and drinks are available in the price.  The Genie arranges any restaurant you want at any time you want.  Or since you will have a huge beautiful room, you could eat on your balcony or in the room.  The Genie will bring you any meal you want on the ship.  I think this is my favorite way to cruise.  The shows are really good.  The night life is for all age crowds around the ship.  The food at the pay restaurants is very good.  You do not pay anything extra for it in Star class.  The Genie brings you anything you need.  I am not needy but I enjoyed him suggesting activities we could do that day. and escorting us.

Have you thought of changing ships and lines?  Doing a few cruises and trying out different styles?  Maybe see if you can line up getting off a ship in Italy or Greece and boarding another line.  Or spend a few days in Barcelona, Spain and then take a different cruise?  With the number of days you are cruising, I would spread those days out a little by cruising a few lines.

That right there is the reason I'll never sail on large, crowded ships again.  Once was enough...
