UK Government guidance on UK only cruises

My practice has exactly the same, I recently completed a form at the practice to allow me access to my records. This part of the system is not very user friendly as it only gives data for any 60 day period so you have to trawl through the system to get details. It is great for making appointments and ordering repeat prescriptions, especially when you turn up to pick your prescription up after the date when it is stated as ready and it isn't ready. Then you get the questions from the medical expert on reception, "Are you sure you ordered it" "Yes", "You need to allow the designated time for us to prepare it" "Done that" "You must have done something wrong" Here take a look at the message from the system stating you prescription will be ready to collect from yesterday. " I would like to point out this practice will not accept any abuse from patients" she says pointing to a note on the wall. "So am I allowed to ask when the prescription will be ready". "You need to allow 5 working days as described on the system".

Talk about being unhelpful. I am sure they are stressed, but I can so understand your frustration.

Just received an email from Patient Access, stating that if you have had the Covid vaccination it would show on the home screen, after login, proving that you have had it.

I have just discovered my practice now uses Airmid app instead of (and as well as) SystmOnline. Unfortunately at this time neither show I have had the covid jabs on the front page, I still have to go through my history.

I do expect something to be added though.

Yes - our GP parctice also uses the SystmOnline portal. I have to scroll to the date of my vaccinations and the entry there has an attachment with the full details of my vaccination. I have printed off this document for both my vaccinations in the hope that those will be sufficient proof.

Not sure if the NHS App is compatible with the SystmOnline portal. If not then I may have problems

To add to the confusion it is reported (leaked?) today that Portugal will be one of the 'green' countries, however it is also reported that the Portugese government have said they will require electronic verification of vaccine status. So you can go to Portugal on your hols but they won't let you in. Meanwhile HMG is in the usual state of chaos re the NHS App being used for verification. In other words not ready in time.

when do the staycation cruises start, July? P&O need to get the proof issue sorted in about 3 weeks from now to allow for cruisers desperate, or disparate attempts to get verification.

Yes the SystmOnline portal is compatible with the NHS app as long as the practice has the correct settings.

P&O are not know for pulling their finger out as far as I'm concerned. They were very slow in releasing details for the staycation cruises in my opinion, yes they may have been faster than the others but I think no one wanted to be first for some strange reason.

The reason I say P&O (and the others) were slow is I know of a large number of people who have booked alternative holidays that would have book a 7 day on Iona and a 4 day on Britannia. I'm one of those people but instead we have booked a trip to Jersey and Guernsey (1 week on each) but not sure how well that will work out. We have also booked 4 nights on Britannia but as I say probably would have booked a 4 and 7 night and very possibly a second 7 night if they had pulled their finger out.

Just my point of view.

P&O may well be waiting for the government to clarify exactly what it going to be acceptable as proof of vaccination, Not sure it’s a decision P&O alone can make.

As I have said previously in either this thread or another, I believe P&O already know exactly what the government will require but are probably having to keep quiet about it. The government would have to involve the travel industries when making this kind of decisions.

I presumem that's only if your GP surgery is using Patient Access, because there is nothing on my home screen.

Yes exactly and as we have said before, not everyone has a smartphone or even a computer, so will need some sort of paper ID

Yes, of course your surgery must be using it for records and prescription ordering.

My NHS app links with my surgery and I can see the vaccinations, but you have to trawl through records to see them!

I have printed off the section showing each vaccination

And all the others who have printed this information off, I find highly unlikely this will be accepted as proof, at least without a practice stamp.

I can see any paper form of proof will need to be on practice headed paper and very possibly a doctors signature otherwise it is just too easy to forge.

How would they print it if they don't have a computer.🤣.?

Flummoxed of Woking.

Saga have said they will accept cards as proof.  But as 97% of their demographics have been vaccinated they have an easy job.

As the government has not stipulated any need of proof of vaccination for easing entry to UK or UK holidays. It's in cruise companies hands what they use. It's in their interest to allow paper.

The interesting thing will be what any  green list EU country which  might only be Portugal accepts as vaccine proof. UK digital proof won't be ready by 17th,  but can't seem them turning away desperately needed customers,  be a riot in Algarve

What cards will Saga accept?

I don't believe they have given any exact details. You would think that they would accept any old piece of paper that has been given out - the Saga clientele are not the sort of people who are likely to be counterfeiting vaccination cards !

I agree, there is no way Saga clientele would forge their own cards, they would pay someone to do that.🤣

I agree on the just printing it off unlikely - had my second vaccination last week at the surgery my mother is registered with - had to travel to support her as her specialist carer is off sick - got the text from my doctor to book my second dose, panic ensued as its 5 hours away so I called my mother's doctors office and they were so lovely - took my NHS number, waved a magic wand and booked me in last Friday.   The lady who checked me in asked if I had the NHS app on my phone (yes) and MyGP (no) and advised me to download it as all their patient records were accessing that and if I was planning on travelling I would need to be able to show this as proof of my vaccination status - she said they were being told to advise all patients of this from their NHS co-ordinator as it would be the main way to prove vaccination status???- today I got a text to login and see my record had been updated to show both vaccinations.  Not sure what this means but thought I would share it

I took a photo of the vaccination appointment card I received which displays my name, the name of the  vaccine, date and batch number on it.

Mainly just in case I loose the card.

That will never be accepted  for vaccination proof as easily forged and many, myself included was given mine when I received my vaccination and all it said was the date and the vaccine used handwritten in ballpoint pen with nothing else on not even my name and the wife's is the same.
