Medallion App Updated and Working Now

You can also logoff yourself and log back in as your spouse and fill out the forms there. (Obviously that's a work around and not ideal but it does work)

If you haven't updated the App recently (This week)  they did fix some bugs so it's worth updating.

 

 

Did you remove app or just redownload it.  Also I have 2 devices iphone and ipad. do I need to do with both?

I deleated on phone and it wants to download from cloud.  Do I need to delete on both devices?

I would delete both and re DL them both directly from the App Store, just to get the most up to date version. Normally you could just update but since you are already having issues I would just 

delete the App off both and DL the updated version from the App Store.

I have the same problem on both my iPad and iPhone and I’m here to say the delete and download will not work. Also adding them as travel partners does not work.  Another person on CC had to call to get it fixed.  Since I don’t cruise until fall of next year I’m letting it ride.  There will be so many fixes/updates before then so all should be well.  I’ve done the workaround (signing in for each of us) and have green checks for all that’s necessary for now.  If your cruise isn’t for a while I suggest you save yourself some stress and wait. Otherwise you have to call the app help folks. 
 

note: I did have both of us showing until the last update.  I don’t know what changed it.

Thanks, I will try deleting both , then re loading them,  after that I will put it away for now. I have until Nov,  Thanks to everyone.

Thanks. I deleted the old app with a little bit of trepidation and installed the new version. It worked well enough to get me into the green lane. It's still not allowing me to select my arrival group. And I can't get into Dine My Way.

August 22. I just booked it this week, though, so I had a late start at trying to get things working.

The DMW didn't work for me for months and then on the last update it started. I would just keep checking back and hopefully the same will happen for you. 

As for arrival time maybe someone who has had success can let you know how far out that is available? 

The App has been a headache all around but at least you were able to get the majority of it back up and working. Enjoy Your Cruise! 🙂

I did the delete and reinstall and DW disappeared. Had to call Support 844-525-0942 to get it fixed. BTW when calling Support the music might stop - do not think you have been dropped, after some time you hear the Agents Are Busy and then silence - keep holding.

I just called support to get my arrival time and dining set. I hope the call was recorded, because I had one of the surliest reps ever. She did eventually set me up with an arrival time of 12-12:15. The arrival time showing up in my app as available was earlier but kept giving me an error message when I tried to select it. Originally, she said the earliest available time was 12:45. I did not want to arrive on the transfer from the airport and be stuck outside the terminal for an hour.

 

She also set me up to dine at 7:40 each night in the Symphony Dining Room. I may change that once on the ship. I'll have to see how they're handling solo passengers at dinner. On the current live thread, someone mentioned that they still have shared tables at breakfast and lunch. The strange thing is that I can now get to that part of the app now that she has selected a time for me. Previously, it just sat there and said "Loading" when I clicked on Dine My Way. 

 

The last bit of info is that there's another update scheduled to come out August 1 according to her.

Apparently I am an anomaly with dining.

 

I was using the Medallion App to select our time in the Main Dining Room.  My husband and I prefer to dine with other fellow cruisers.  It's just fun to meet new people and compare our adventures.

 

Unfortunately, the app will only seat us for a table for 2.   There were no other options.  

 

I called a representative last night and she too logged into the app and discovered the same problem.  She said that people have been complaining that they want a table for two and don't want to eat with others.

I think the system defaults to table size for your group. We are just two and get table for two, we also requested 7:00 and both cruises we are in the DR previously used for TD. On the thread about first Alaska cruise, people said they asked to Share and were accommodated. DW and I are happy with each other but so enjoy sharing.

One hour and 7 minutes. Called 844 number.  What a surprise when agent told me that he had to connect to an Ocean Navigator.  Another wait.  At least I could speak to the Ocean Navigator Dxxxxxx.  

 

First announcement:  New update coming on Friday.  "Should" fix glitches.

 

Bad news.  She could not get into my app/account to assign me a boarding time.  What????  Others have been able to call in and get boarding time.  Nope...I have to wait to be assigned a time according to my cabin location.  Doesn't matter that I am an Elite in a suite.

 

"That is the way of the World" is all she could say about why Princess went to app instead of Personalizer.  Either get with it (smart phone or tablet) or don't cruise with Princess.  

 

Even more frustrated and now angry with Princess.  This is so unacceptable.  This should not have been rolled out until it was tested and proven to work.  I still don't have a boarding time.  They still can't tell me when I will be able to get/or be assigned a boarding time.  No reassurance that I will have any type of priority boarding.  In limbo at the mercy of Princess' IT department.

 

Oh, let's add that her recommendation is that I don't mess with my specialty dining reservation (I am unable to add my cabin mate to my table).  Just show up with voucher.  Now that's a great fix (I knew that before I asked the question).

Chat update on Princess.com:  Agent told me that she just received an update that arrival window will open 30-45 days before cruise.  I could not comprehend why the window.  Who gets 30 and who gets 45.  No mention of priority to Elite/Suites (courtesy notice of upcoming opening).  

 

Out of my control.  I need to let this go.

This is probably a true statement any day of any week.

 

I think it's quite gracious of princess' customers to pay (with both their time and cruise fare)

to help test princess' app for them.

 

Otherwise, the global innovators would have to hire some global testers.

Well I set sail in 5 days. Have again just switched phone on/off, deleted, waited, reinstalled the app, switched off on, everything apart from a sun dance…….. and still no where to put my passport details.  Iphone 11 (or 12, not sure) and latest ios. (Also tried it on an iphone8, same on there too.)

Do not stress.  Show passport at port. Not a big deal.  There will be plenty of Princess medallion class app specialists at the port to help with everything.

That is what shows for me only 3 sections   If, I put in my cabin mate’s log in with our booking #, her name/birthday, both of us show up ,  with all  of sections for her and myself.  Try that.

They dont have a log in, so just used the booking number to log them in on their phone.  I will set up an account for them now and try that thanks.  As AF said, Im not going to stress, I will just head to the dock, and it can then become someone elses problem 🙂

No luck, has not worked, but worth a try thanks.  Only the 3 showing on their phone logging in as them.

That's sad. I called and talked to a surly rep who managed to get me into arrival Group B and a dining time. Once she got them working, I can see them on my app as well. It doesn't just hold on the "Loading" screen anymore.

Not so sad as it is too early for Arrival Groups.  Not sure how a rep set you up for one already. 

 

DMW is still flaky and not available for all voyages.  There is a bug (or more) around multiple linked voyages (i.e. B2B, B2B2B, etc).  But I am not so sure all of them are affected.  I am still waiting to get back into DMW myself for a B2B2B.  But - bottom-line, yes, we should be able to use DMW if qualified to book now.  Arrival Groups - not necessary this far ahead.

Is it too early for arrival groups? Some people on the roll call for my cruise have reported being able to sign up for arrival groups since June 23. My cruise is a little over three weeks away. And I guess that's why the rep said that the early groups were full initially before getting me into the second group.
