First time Cheers package questions.

Hi there, on my next sailing I have the cheers package.  Not much of a drinker, but I do have some questions.

Do I get a sticker or something?  Can I get a soda and a bottle of water at the same time?  Is the tip already included in the price of the cheers?

I also have never followed the 'bar open' info, so is there always a bar open?  Any input would be great, thanks.

Only one drink at a time allowed, I believe at least 5-10 minutes apart. The casino area bar is open really late, I usually close the casino at 3-4 in the morning. Even if you're not a big drinker, you can use Cheers to get Specialty Coffees (with/without alcohol) and milkshakes where available. Hope this helps.

I was just on the site for my Cruise Planner and the FAQ wasn't coming up. You get 25% off purchase of bottles of wine/champagne. Also, energy drinks included. Soda, water, juice don't count against 15 drink limit.

You should get a sticker for your sail n sign card.

Tips are included but you can always tip more for good service.

5 minutes between drinks.

If this is your first Cheers package experience, just remember it does not include the souvenir drinks/cups at the pool, buckets of beer or the 'take home the shot glass' drinks in the dining room.  The one drink at a time is for alcohol, I have never had issue getting a drink and a water or a drink and a soda at the same time.  My wife and I drink a lot of the specialty coffee as we don't care for the stuff at the buffet, so there is some value in that along with the sports drinks and energy drinks mentioned above.  One last thing to note, that some like doubles or 'floaters' on their drinks and that is a no-go for Cheers (unless you really get to know your bartender).

It also gives you an opportunity to TRY something different . If you don't like it get something else.

You don't have to pretend to like it because you paid xxx for the drink.

BTW if the ship has an Achlemy Bar it's a must try. And if you're are chocolate person the "Deal Breaker" is fantastic.

Another question about cheers. With RU2, we’re told by our PVP that we can add cheers for $360 total ($180 each) to our 7 day cruise on the Madi Gras. It sounds like a great price. Anybody else look into this offer. This will be our first time getting it.

Sounds like a great price to try it. You won't be pressed to over indulge to feel you got your money's worth.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I hate not getting my money’s worth. But I also hate feeling hung over.

That is a good price, it's usually around $840+ for a couple for 7 days. That ($180 each) is around the same value as buying bottles for the cabin (2 each) but having the freedom of going to bars, ordering poolside, at dinner, and having a variety. I'd jump on that without much hesitation. The convenience factor alone is worth it IMO.

I was asking a similar question earlier on this topic. The way I see it, stock up whenever you pass a bar or place that has bottled water, cans of soda, or energy drinks. Stock them in your room so you don't have to do it too often when you just want to chill in the room for a little while.

My now first cruise is on the Lido deck. I don't think I will have to do much stocking in the room fridge. Just 100' from the room I can get a drink very easily.

Just book Carnival Magic 9-day out of NYC August 22, 2022.

I was able to book it with the RU2 Cheers rate.

Don't know if it was a good deal or not but the option was there. I had to use up a FCC before I left New Jersey for my sister's in Oregon.  Was able to pay it off with $1100 OBC ( left over money). Then I realized Hey, no Drink charges!

I think RU2 is real good; RU9 is the one least preferred. Sounds like a great deal with all the OBC.

So, which promo code did the algorithm bestow upon you? RU1, RU2 or RU3?

Long time cruiser with over 40 cruises under my belt, and 1st time also for cheers for us too.  Not big drinkers, but figured for only about $180 total extra for our cruise totally worth it.  I usually spend around $100 for drinks on a week long cruise, plus coffee and milkshakes now and then - just because I don't want a $500 bar bill.  Will just "enjoy" myself a little more this time so will be worth it lol.

I do want to confirm what I believe I understood by reading all the plan guidelines and what is also mentioned here:

Milkshakes and/or specialty coffees from the coffee bar and sport drinks and/or energy drinks from the bar are included BUT do NOT count toward your 15 drink a day limit, correct?

I don't imagine I would drink 15 in any combination, but want to make sure.  My brother and sister in law are cruising with us for the first time and buying it as well, and they are heavy drinkers and love their coffees so just want to make sure we understand the number limits and how they work.

correct those are unlimited.  Alcoholic beverages are the only thing that is limited to 15 per day

Great idea. I'm going b2b and only have the drink package on the first cruise.  Thanks

Yeas, lattes, expressos, etc. from the coffee bar are not included; however, Irish Coffee or any coffee with a shot of alcohol in it does count.
