Hi all

just approaching the end of our second week on the Viking Venus

if anyone has questions please feel free to give us a shout

Good to hear that, I did not realise it was possible to spend that long on a ship as other companies seem to be limiting the summer cruises to no more than a week.  Thanks for your post,  I hope you are enjoying the cruise.

Have you docked anywhere in Scotland or Northern Ireland?  We are due to sail from Greenock to Liverpool in July (on a different cruise line) with port calls in Portrush (near the Giant's Causeway) and Belfast.  Hence I would be particularly interested if you have been to the Northern Island ports and if so, how well the shore excursions ran and if people enjoyed them.

An article here from the BBC quoting a couple who have just sailed on the Virtuosa for 4 days - 1,000 people on a 6,000+ capacity ship:

"It wasn't all plain sailing though, she adds, as they had to wear masks everywhere, including while out on deck, which she says was "absolute madness". You could only take your mask off when eating, drinking, or swimming."

Why the cruise industry is still navigating choppy waters

Only when moving about on outside decks for masks, it seems they can be removed on sun beds.  I have been reading various threads as due on the ship next week, if we are not bunked of due to overbooking.
