Revamped Tier Levels Coming Soon

Friend in high up places tells me they are coming out with new tier level and reworking the current perks for each level. I believe this was over due since elite level was a very low bar and number of elites is way to large. Laundry was a factor, it was taking too long for elites since it was over whelmed. I'm interested to see where the top tier will be............25-50 cruise credits sounds like a good number. The number of nights???

Any guesses what the new top tier number of cruises will be?

Taking away perks that have already been earned will not make people happy.  Unless, they are grandfathering everyone already in and then raise the bar.  Any word on that?

I don't know the details but if they don't take a perk away like laundry they haven't solved the issue of over loaded. I remember when RCL made their new level of Pinnacle they eliminated the Diamond plus people from the concierge lounge. Of course the D+ weren't happy but as everything else. time passed and the new system became normal.

I hope the number of free internet minutes is increased for elite and the new tier. Platinum could stay the same causing no complaints and this is something that costs Princess nothing as a perk. The P/D/S disembarkation lounge is over crowded. The mini bar another perk that is too numerous. When I call room service to swap out my mini bar for all diet coke it takes a day or two.

Maybe the tiers will be based on days sailed with a total disregard for # of cruises, suites, solos.

No more cruise credits, just days.

As for the laundry perk, maybe one or two bags/person/week.

Reset everyone to zero?

That would be unfair to those of us who pay for suites vs the inside cabins. Company needs to reward their big spenders accordingly.

Cruzsnooze ...

I understand your point.

But I do think Princess is looking for a way to change their bloated program, and I doubt fairness will come into play.

Heck, before sailing restarts soon, thdy could announce that anyone who has not sailed for 12 months will be reset to zero.  Fair or not?

I cannot see my elite benefits in Personalizer as of this am.
just became elite.
have premium plus package for next cruise with wifi, drinks. Won’t let them touch most of my clothes for laundry.

OBC would be nice

I always thought it was ridiculous that a person in an inside cabin on a one or two day sailing would get the same credit as somebody in a minisuite on a ten day cruise.  It was too easy to get through the levels by booking these short sailings that always seemed to come out of the west coast and not out of the east coast.  The problem is, many of those people spent money to go on those short sailings in order to get the Circle perks.  At this point it wouldn't be fair to take them away after they paid to get them.  This is really a 'no-win' situation.  Maybe the best thing is to scrap the whole incentive program and put it with the straws and barrel chairs...

Barrel Chairs!!! 🪑 On no, don't get me started on that.  My last two booked cruises were with HAL and not Princess because of that!!😀

Scrapping the whole program would motivate us to seriously look at other cruise lines, even those not in the Carnival family. We'd especially look at Azamara and Oceania as they have the R class ships that Princess no longer has. Might as well if we've got no perks on Princess.

I forget the years but there was a season or two when Princess ran quite a lot of 3 & 4 day voyages out of FLL.  A LOT of people used those to accelerate to Elite.  Of course those infamous 1-nighters between Seattle and Vancouver helped some folks too.

Color me skeptical....

Over the years we've all seen this exact subject raised over and over here, and each time it was reported by a anonymous Princess insider, and each time  the change was always "imminent"

My curiosity is certainly piqued. Looking forward to something happening as it's always fun to read about the gnashing of teeth, rending of garments and imagine the wails of displeasure.

I wonder how many of us will "Never sail Princess again"?

I would think that the fairest way would be to count days and not cruises.  But just my opinion

I think the fairest way would be to base it on dollars paid over time.  This would include both cruise fares and onboard spending, excursions and possibly casino.  I would prefer to see any complimentary OBC used to count into the amount spent on a cruise.

If the laundry perks were taken away it would be a great opportunity for us to try other cruise lines. DH has always said the longer cruises make it worthwhile to stick with Princess because of the perks. We probably would not completely stop cruising on Princess, but it would open the door to other lines.

In the olden days, elites would get unlimited free internet.

Loyalty perks come and go...

I'd take the 10% of shore excursions...not interested in the other ones.
