Freedom July Restrictions

Recommended Posts

I’m shocked the casino will be vax only, but this will basically guarantee  all ships will be that 95% plus threshold until rules become more clear. I’m hoping this is a step in the right direction to maskless Florida cruises.

It's a good thing they are not allowing the unvaxxed in the casino -- especially if they are allowing smoking.  Who wants to breathe in unvaxxed smoke?  Hoping they get rid of all indoor smoking for everyone as well.

Saw on a youtube live thread that they are not allowing independent shore excursions for Celebrity Edge in Mexico.  I have Freedom booked in Sept for the Bahamas only.  Anyone know about Nassau excursions -- if we can do non ship sanctioned excursions?

This really sucks for parents with young kids. Don't want my daughter that can't get vaccinated to have to sit around a bunch of people who are choosing to not vaccinate.

I don't know why anyone would want to take their unvaxed kids on a cruise at this point.  Just wait a few months until restrictions get lifted and/or the kids CAN get vaccinated

According to the above chart independent allowed in Nassau. I also read that was the case on Edge. Mexico is in the red zone for Covid. I did hear this was a last minute change. Personally going to wait until closer to my sailing to book our independent excursions.

I’m on the July 2 Freedom sailing. I plan to Livestream that weekend if you want to follow on YouTube.

the information I got that in Nassau unvaccinated need to be on tours but CocoCay there are no restrictions. I’m going with my son with isn’t vaccinated and I’m fine with all of this. Just glad Adventure Ocean will be open. For me that would have been a dealbreaker

My kids wore masks all school year! Definitely don’t want to wear one on a cruise. They are 15 and 18 and vaccinated now. I’m struggling with it as well but happy I can at least go maskless in the casino!

Glad you are doing this and will follow your live stream!  I'm okay with ship tours for now as well -- I booked one in Nassau for Sept.

Thanks for the info.  I'm okay with ship tours for now but was wondering if we could go wonder around by ourselves to the Straw Market.

Can you share the link to your YT channel?

Btw, my name is Shannon Ford if you want to find me on YouTube. I’ve never don’t livestreams before so it will be a first for me. But I know I’ve been watching the ones from adventure and enjoying them.

as for why I would want to bring my son. He’s 5. We know kids aren’t affected by the virus like adults. He also has no issues wearing a mask (I hate them) I had planned to wear a mask when he needed to so he wouldn’t feel weird, so the requirement is fine with me. We plan to be outside a lot anyway.  I have that Friday and Monday off of work anyway, so when the cruise came up, I booked it. Unfortunately my husband has to work, so I’m looking forward to a nice mother son trip. But we’ve been to Disney, Universal several times since June of last year. We made the conscious decision as a family to keep doing fun things as much as possible while being safe. So why stop now. I have faith in the precautions Royal is taking and all the testing etc. It’s more than what was done at Disney.

We've seen the damage done to kids the last 15 months by locking them down. Let kids be kids, they'll be fine.

Today's answer is not necessarily indicative of what the policy will be when you sail in September. The ports or RC can change this at any time.

For example passengers on yesterday's Adventure sailing were notified Friday (one day notice) that if there was anyone not vaccinated in their party (not just in their cabin), the only way anyone in that party could debark in Cozumel or Freeport is on a RC excursion.

Makes sense to have casino for vaxxer only since people want to drink and smoke while gambling.

Nice to see the schooner bar and the pub are vaxxed only too.

I would have rather had deck 4 of MDR for vaxxed only then deck 3.

Yes -- so true -- the rules today may be different come Sept.  Thanks for sharing the info on Friday's Freedom sailing.
