We got our COVID tests and waited for the results and we are negative. I’m a positive type of person but this time glad to be negative.

also if you take the test and don’t board for several hours and want to leave and have lunch and then come back that is fine. They do have water coffee tea and pastries here

Thank you for the update, Keith!  Enjoy your cruise - fair seas and following winds!  I’ll look forward to meeting you all next week!

Happy sailing to this first brave group!  Did they give you some kind of tracking bracelet?

Thank you.  They haven't arrived yet but they will have them on future voyages.

Whatever you would like but you have to first go through the process at the convention center

Hi Keith. Thank you so much for posting and welcome aboard.

I wanted to double check this for my own cruise on July 24th. I had arranged an independent private transfer from the convention center to the ship. But I was concerned that once you were tested you would have to remain in a bubble and take only Crystal transportation (bus or private car) to the ship. I just wanted to confirm that once you're tested you can make your own way to the ship.

Also, is there an advantage of using a Crystal arranged private car? Will they handle your luggage and take you right to the ship as opposed to the entrance to the pier, especially for passengers with limited mobility?

Thanks so much.

Tom.

We are home

We love Cruising.

We love Crystal.

We love Crystal.

We love Crystal.

We are back home.

We are happy.

We are thrilled.

We made it.  We were thrilled to pass the COVID-19 test.  We left the Convention Center and arrived to the ship around 12:45 by the private vehicle from Crystal that dropped us there.

We were greeted by a very Happy Happy Crew.  Head of Security Sanjiv helped to get our bags on the security belt and Head Waiter Augusto helped take them off for us.  So many smiling faces.  Well they have masks on.  LOL.

We registered and received our key cards.  Our butler was right there to take our carry ons up to our room.  He and the Stewardess went were with us and we answered questions they had.  We know them both well.  We were with Frederick when he was being trained in the fall of 2018 to be a butler.

No muster drill.  You just have to go to your muster station and one member of the crew (Dimitri the amazing dancer and line captain) demonstrated along with someone from the casino.

Waterside is not open so we had lunch in the room.  Not Cobb salad but close.

We saw several familiar stewardesses on the various landings and they were so happy to have guests on board and we know almost all of them.

We love them all.

Luggage arrive.

We are thrilled to be here.

Some photos.

And did I say we love Crystal?  You bet.

Keith

Keith, hope both of you have a wonderful cruise.  We are enjoying your blog tremendously.  We are living vicariously through your experiences for the next two weeks, until it is our turn to board.  Stay safe and make happy memories.

Assume that the stewardesses had on their evening uniforms since people will be boarding over a longer period and they will be working straight through. Looked good.

Patty

Boarding still occurring as some boarded at 5:00 PM and some had delayed flights.
