Anyone been a "tour conductor" for a group on Princess? How does the TC credit work?

Recommended Posts

We've done some group cruises in the past and it seems like it always changes, is impossible to decipher the verbiage, and is hard to understand. Wonder what your experience with Princess and TC credits is?  I think it's 1 credit for every 8 people, and the credit is the average of all the cabins booked in your group. So if you took 16 people on a cruise, they booked 8 interior cabins all for $1K each, your credit would be 2,000?  Do you get a check from Princess for $2K in cash or is it all onboard credits?

In your example , your TC would be 1 guest Cruise Rate ( $1000 minus port charges and taxs ) ..for every 16 guests booked at Double occ.

For small group it is usually returned to the TC after the cruise.

"Returned" as in they send a check?  What if the group tops 100?  Does that change things since it's not so small?

You probably ought to phone Princess, and talk to the Group Dept for a definitive answer.

By th way, some group organizers actually share their benefits ... by using whatever they get from Princess to "buy" stuff for group members, be it a small cocktail party or a photo or two or whatever.

When booking the group you get points based on how many people are booking. You can spend those points to get free cocktails, on board credit, spa treatments, parties, all kinds of things. One of the ways you can spend it is getting a TC credit. It is usually 1 berth (1/2 a cabin) for every 8 cabins, though what is actually on offer depends on the cruise and how many cabins in what category you are reserving. It is not available for every group reservation.

it is the same process whether it is 8 or 80 cabins. You pay for all the berths up front and about 10 days after the sailing you get a rebate for the amount of berths you earned. 8 cabins at double occupancy = 1/2 a cabin (at the lowest category reserved) so to get a rebate for  1 whole cabin you need at least 16 cabins at double occupancy full fare.
