Live from the Inaugural Endeavor Sailing - Reykjavik Roundtrip - July 17, 2021

Timmy and I leave tomorrow for Reykjavik, for a pre-cruise stay at the Hotel Borg. Our last cruise was 32 days on Serenity, embarking October 2019. Some folks here on  cruise critic followed along with my first attempt to live post as we sailed the Mediterranean and then crossed the Atlantic to FLL. I just re-read those posts…what a super time we had😊 Like others on this board, we’ve had several Crystal cruises canceled. When we received Crystal’s email announcing this inaugural voyage we didn’t hesitate to sign on. We are excited to return to Iceland (our first ever Crystal cruise in 2015 stopped at Reykjavik and Heimaey) but most excited to return to Crystal. We are easy going, laid back travelers who love going on adventures and meeting new folks. I’m hoping that the internet onboard Endeavor cooperates (I feel you Keith😊) so that we can share our return to cruising with you all. If you are on this sailing, and wish to add your thoughts and impressions to this thread, please do. 5F5DD826-386D-4403-91E6-CD0AC4A24A88.thumb.jpeg.afeb91cea3c95c9f37276cba18a957f2.jpeg

Bon Voyage.  I should have prepared a proper one but got out of the habit of looking at the bottom of the Future Bookings thread.

Have a wonderful time/

Here’s Freddy with his sad face. We are packed and waiting for our car service to JFK. We have some activities planned in Reykjavik and we are looking forward to enjoying Icelandic cuisine. Packing for this adventure was interesting…we’d purged most of our winter clothing when we decided to ditch NY winters. So we purchased several cold  weather items from Crystals website. They arrived within a week, are of good quality and true to size. Temperatures, even in summer,  range from low 40s to mid 50s in Reykjavik and can get down to 30s on the glaciers, and according to my research…it’s very, very windy We were quite chilly in 2015 so we are more than prepared this trip.
We have a travel blog: http://www.travelingwithtimmy.com  where I’ll be posting pics, reviews and updates as our latest adventure unfolds. We’d love to have you follow along. 705986E2-7F70-4C08-B29A-F42D6389E64F.thumb.jpeg.55b11615e3bfcd8136a6f88c1443d248.jpeg

Thank you to singinalot, Ray, Nancy, Gil, Keith, Terry, and Sierraflcruiser, for your well wishes.

I’m praying that the internet/WiFi gods smile on me and I’m able to share our experiences on this inaugural voyage.

Here’s a photo Tim took in June 2015 at the Blue Lagoon.

That looks so amazing, times three!

We are going directly from the airport (7:30 am arrival) to the Retreat Spa at the Blue Lagoon. I can not wait!

We loved it so much…we are going again on Thursday. May I suggest you book a massage in the lagoon… it was super. And don’t be afraid to put the silica on your face…it’s amazing.3D9C8044-D444-4D48-A897-CF588F951558.thumb.jpeg.84b23205e065bc6cb9c0109285025872.jpeg

I’m reviewing the photos we took that day…so much fun. I hope you will love the Retreat as much as we did ❤️

So far so good ❤️Driver arrived on time, no issues on the way to JFK…arrived at 5:35… through check in and security by 6:00 pm. No lounges are open in Terminal 7. Luckily there is a restaurant… here’s Timmy waiting for his club sandwich ❤️
I’ll update the blog after dinner:

On the plane…we walked from the restaurant to our gate and our flight was boarding! Pretty amazing…only 13 folks out of 25 seats in Saga class. Flight is pretty empty. Greeted warmly with Prosecco…all’s right in our world.

I’m not sure about internet, so the next time I post will most likely be from Reykjavik. To say I’m excited is the grossest of understatements.
Yay to be traveling again! Yay to sharing another adventure with my Tim❤️❤️❤️

Thanks so very much for posting all that you can about pre-cruise arrangements,  Covid testing, food, entertainment, enrichment, excursions, etc. I think we're going to book for mid August so looking forward to your observations. Most specifically the weather and the clothes to pack. Thanks again.
