How are the cabins below a casino, in particular Sapphire?

Recommended Posts

It would be more helpful if you referenced a specific ship...

That being said, most of the ships I've been on the casino is on either deck 6 or 7 midship and there were no cabins under that area.

I was on Plaza (Sapphire cruise Nov. 2019), did not hear anything from the casino.  I regularly stay on Plaza deck, usually under the casino, near the Art Gallery.  Royal class I'm on Emerald deck, other ships pretty much Plaza.

Thanks!  I booked exactly where you suggested.  And I too love Emerald deck on Royal class.

you've booked the 1FUFF deck ,  1 floor up for fun ... 😄

I don't think I'll spend hardly anytime on Deck 6.  Deck 5 where the cabin is has Alfredo's (so a restaurant I don't mind going to), International Cafe for coffee, and a bar not too far off as I planned to get plastered on this particular cruise though I don't normally make it a habit to drink too much alcohol.

We booked a cabin on Fiesta deck on Emerald Princess. It was behind the art gallery. No noise from the casino but it was the absolute noisiest cabin we have ever had. In port it was lots of banging and bashing as they loaded stuff. At sea it must have been stabilizers. Insane noise most of the time. Horrible cabin as well as it was more narrow than the standard cabins. Able to have a side unit on one side of the bed and the other side had barely enough room to move standing sideways. Never again. Cabin P328. Inside and horrid.

Sadly, we also had the absolute worst steward ever and the worst CD staff ever. Never had rude or snotty CD staff before. Fortunately we discovered that we had cruising friends on that cruise who made it much better.

Thrak, I think you mean under Fiesta on Plaza Deck.  I was on the Emerald 30 days, So. Amer. cruise and it was fine.

I'm talking last group of cabins along side the art gallery, not behind or more forward.  Plaza will be noisy further forward, no doubt, been there and I don't think it is too bad.  However, I am a very early riser, all the preparation for port doesn't bother me.

Couldn't edit my post.  Looked at deck plans and pics, Plaza Deck cabins, pretty much as I remember.  Insides have night stands on each side of the bed and cabins don't seem any smaller.   Info is from cruisedeckplans.com.

The cabin # mentioned isn't an inside cabin on Emerald, it is an outside, for whatever reason has one  nightstand.

My point being I've stayed in the last group of cabins before the piazza (Sapphire and Emerald), not had a problem.  I don't want to steer someone wrong, I love Plaza deck.

D'Oh! Yes, the cabin number clearly identifies it as Plaza deck and it was an OV. Horrible room. Never, ever, again. Sorry about that.

Midship (as close as you can get to the International Cafe) interior is one of the best cabins on a Grand Class ship.  Usually little to no noise from Art Gallery.  Sometimes the hall dead ends (no through traffic).  Sometimes they open the door to the Piazza.  In this case, take the rooms on the starboard side).  Almost midship.  Yes....those cabins forward are horrible.  Anchor noises, bow movements, doors creaking.  Smaller rooms at the bow.

P328 is not a forward cabin. It's only the 4th cabin from the Piazza. We picked it for the location and, other than the cramped cabin, the constant noise, and the horrible steward, it was a great location. Very close to the Piazza.  A couple of times I had to run back to the cabin for something and it was such a convenient location.

The sample image on the Princess site is accurate.

And being an OV cabin, someone getting an upgrade from an inside cabin or an obstructed OV cabin could get assigned to this cabin since Princess considers it a better cabin.

This has been discussed before. Seems a lot of the noise comes from one deck below. Crew work areas. They start very early every morning.

My bad...I did not catch it in the title!

You should be ashamed of yourselves! This is the kind of dorky mistake that would usually be made by people like me! Sigh... I hate it when I do this stuff. 🤪 Seriously, don't feel too bad. I cringe when I think how many times I've misspoken here. Fortunately, "most" folks have been kind to me when I have done so.

That's because the majority of the time you are nice to others.   🙂

Been there, done that, will do it again!
