Lisa, loved your pictures of  your night out, and yes, if his beard was a little shorter, your waiter is definitely a doppelganger for Captain Obvious.  The resemblance is uncanny.  Have a great cruise and thanks again for taking us all along with you.  Neil

Good morning Cruisers!  Lisa, I'm so excited for you and Tom who will be boarding your BHB in just a few short hours.  Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch sail-away because I have a vow renewal to perform this afternoon at a nearby lake.  We've been invited to stay for the festivities, and will do so, as we know the couple and many of their friends.

Wishing you a most wonderful cruise, as you once again sail the seas.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Lisa & Tom, have a great voyage on Nieuw A and enjoy Alaska. Keep her in tip top shape for us please 😉 'cause we are exactly two weeks behind you!

Don't know if you know but the "Mustard" drill (mandatory emergency drill) that you will be experiencing tomorrow has been much simplified, Covid-style:

It is now called "Safety Essentials" and is a 3-step process:

1. At your leisure, during a time window in the afternoon, scan in at your muster station and receive a very brief/mini safety instruction from a crew member

2. Next, watch the safety video on your stateroom TV (before you are able to switch it to any other channel)

3. Lastly/finally; listen to the captain's announcement before departure

Nieuw A's captain will be Jeroen Baaijens - Capt. Jeroen van Donselaar left for home today on a well earned vacation. Her HD is Bart Jan Groeneveld

Bart and Jeroen, a perfect combination..

OMG Lisa, @LAFFNVEGAS take a peek at the Juneau cam as it pans out over the water and you're going to be grateful you brought warm clothes, looks like Seattle in November 😁  A cold 53 degree rain that we would love some of down here.

Good Evening from Downtown Seattle Sheraton. Despite having gotten up very early it’s been a very good day.

after having walked Seattle this afternoon we came back to our room to relax a bit. I thought I might take a nap but there was a slight problem, the bed is so tall I could not get into it. Seriously it comes up to almost my waist , Tom is laughing at me, and I am laughing 😂 and crying. Finally I decided we had to move the ottoman that was by the couch next to the bed to help me into bed. My World of Short People Problems.

I did take a 90 minute nap which definitely helped then just before 5 we headed out to Capital Grille which is about two blocks away from the Sheraton. While pricey it as definitely excellent. I have paid more for much lower quality for fine dining in Las Vegas so we were actually impressed. We each had Filet Medallions with Lobster, Shrimp Cocktail and I had an excellent Lobster Bisque, we topped it off with a Creme Brûlée that we almost forgot to take a picture of, we had already dug in. Then to top it off we had an excellent server named John that seriously looked and sounded like Captain Obvious from the Expedia travel commercials . He said he has been asked that a lot.

I am adding some pictures of our hotel in the pics below. I do like this hotel, easy walk to many things downtown.

Can you believe tomorrow is the BIG Day!!!

After far too many canceled cruises, I am thrilled for the Cruise Industry and know they will be successful.

Signing off till the morning.

Another bon voyage! You'll be heading to the pier soon! Would love to be there, but I guess watching the webcam will have to do.

Is there a webcam at the dock where HAL is?  I've looked around and can't find one.  Would love to watch sailaway later today!

Thanks, I had seen those....the Elliot Bay one would be good if their cameras weren't so low and showing so much roof.  I'll probably check out another one I found from across the bay to see when they sail by.  https://www.weatherbug.com/weather-camera/?cam=SALTY    Better than nothing!  We are all so spoiled by the FLL and MIA cameras! 😎

Good Morning, we checked out of our room and are now waiting in the Fountain Lounge very near the Holland Amsterdam Concierge Desk. They told us the Bus will be here at 11 and we will load up and head to pier 91.
It look to be a beautiful day for a cruise 😊

I will say finding breakfast was not overly easy,  we were going to have breakfast here at the hotel, but the menu ended up being for room service, they made it sound like it was at the Club Sheraton on the 32nd floor. It end up that is only a buffet that  was $32 pp for absolutely nothing fancy basically what you get for free at Hampton Inn or other similar. It was all self service so with all that in mind we decided to go look near the hotel. Well stopping at three places near by that we thought would be open and we’re not we came back and just got the breakfast sandwiches at the Starbucks in the Hotel lobby. We will need to investigate further for when we return in September.

there are currently now 18 total of us waiting for the bus to take us to the pier.

I hope to get pictures and possibly video of embarkation. We will see what I can manage. Also more changes to our Navigator today, I did screenshots below.
