From what I can gather, this form should be completed if you are embarking through Italy or Malta.  Not sure about other countries, but we are embarking through Italy so I've completed it.

Very interesting information.

Especially:

Passengers travelling to one of the below countries (as their final destination) should complete a passenger locator form via the European Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF).

This says to me that if I’m flying into Italy to board a cruise that travels to, say, Africa, I don’t need to complete and submit this document.

I'm traveling from the USA to Italy to (cruise itinerary) to Italy and back home.  Not certain, but I think I needed to complete it.  It was pretty painless in any event.

At this point I’m so happy to be cruising that I don’t care what restrictions they throw at me. I don’t care about the paperwork or required tests.

But please, somebody spell this out in language a child could understand. Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it!!!

The good news is my cruise is months off, so I’m just going to ignore everything for now because the rules will undoubtably be different.

Back in April, MSC (in Germany) were excellent about communicating which forms needed to be filled and test requirements etc.  However it was only about 1 month before the cruise when we received the first details, and then when the rules changed they sent a new email.

I can see it makes people anxious, but the reality is nobody knows the restrictions and forms required for months away.    Hopefully none 🙂

I was just filling this form out and got stumped on the required "temporary address in the next 14 days" section. Without that address, I wasn't allowed to continue. Does this mean you can only fill it out within 14 days of sailing out of Italy? Also, can you use the ship as your "temporary address?" Traveling abroad in a pandemic sure does take some extra steps and patience! TIA for your help! 😉

I'm staying in a hotel, so I used the hotel's address.  But if it doesn't apply, there's usually an opportunity to skip or delete that option.
