Wow, CC is really messed up. I’ve been trying to post for 15 minutes and nothing I try will work.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that Craig and I both got automated phone calls from HAL saying that we had important paperwork to sign for our upcoming cruise. That’s never happened before so we were both surprised. I was actually going to start working on it today. Glad they are keeping us informed.

I don't know why I'm not having issues, even during the now infamous rocket period.

I missed the rockets, but couldn't get on to CC with my iPad, now I'm on my computer, it's working fine.  (Fingers crossed)

A lot of the people that reported issues were on tablets I believe.  And I'm not sure the rockets were visible, the mobile version always seemed a little different than the desktop.

I can’t use my thumbs either because of my arthritis. DS watched me type with my finger once and got really irritated with me because I was so slow. But like @kazu I can type like the Dickens on a keyboard.

And that’s why I have never gotten interested on the smart phone 😉

Since I’ve had one email already - right now I am using a logi keyboard (aka Logitech).  I’ve never been a fan of Logitech but it’s a decent keyboard and works well.  And it gets a lot of use out of me.  My prior one with a very old Ipad was a Zagg but Zagg was a ridiculous price this time and they are heavier.

It comes with a protective shell which protects the Ipad in case of falls.

Open, it’s like a mini computer.

closed and it’s protected.

And believe me, MIss butterfingers had dropped her Ipad more than once and the shell protects it beautifully, thankfully.

I could never do LIVE threads or a lot of emails I do or even roll call posts without my keyboard.

I guess I don’t adapt to change well in some things 😉

The rockets were visible on my Ipad.  With the Ipad, you had the choice to choose CC’s mobile or tablet version.  I chose the tablet.

they just weren’t there very long 😉

I love most nuts and eat some every day; Brazil nuts not so much. I like watermelon but it sure does not like me. Night out, tonight my brother in law and sister in law are taking me out to dinner for my 80th birthday.

I have never been to Brazil and love seeing the photos.

Jane

Jane, wishing you a very Happy Birthday!

Sounds like a very lovely celebration!

@kazu  My DH agrees with yours on the watermelon salsa!   He detests watermelon,  our kids bought watermelon shampoo, gum etc to torment him!
He found a great hot pepper relish that he made that is really yummy!

Now, why am I not surprised that he found hot pepper relish that is yummy. 😂

Recipe?

After all, we know you are growing chilies 😉

I first posted this 7 hours ago. It didn’t post. Fingers crossed this time!
Good morning, all! For everyone’s sake, I am making no comment on the days. The meal sounds good, and I enjoyed the quote. I absolutely loved our stop in Boca De Valeria. Unfortunately my pics are buried on a hard drive somewhere. I’ve been enjoying ones posted by others. We were escorted through the village by a trio of little girls carrying a sloth. Then DH and I took a ride up the tributary in a canoe like motorized boat. We payed in Reis, which was much cheaper than the cost in USD. The fact the boatman was so happy with this indicates that whoever comes from town to exchange the USD for Reis after the ship leaves really takes advantage of the farmers and villagers. I’m guessing their middleman gives them 50 cents on the dollar at best. It was a wonderful day.

DS and I had a good visit to the Okanagan and came home with lots of apricots. The smoke was awful. I’ve never seen it that dense. For anyone familiar with Kelowna, you couldn’t see the water from the top of the bridge. I don’t mean down the lake, I mean the water right beside the bridge. It’s like extremely dense fog, but brownish instead of whitish. The water is extremely low due to the drought.

The water is normally right up Tom the willow tree and a couple of inches below the dock.

Meanwhile in Chilliwack, the banana plant is going wild. I’ve never seen it like this. It has topped out in height, so it’s getting wider now.

Happy Tuesday, especially for those enjoying life on a BHB in Alaska!

I would be happy if they just removed the number of post unless there is some grand prize down the road. I have accumulated a lot of post from hosting many Roll Calls. Many of them came from when I started and ran the Fort Lauderdale Sail-Aways.

I don’t need to be a “Cool” cruiser and when I look at how much time I have spent posting and browsing here on CC I personally question myself that maybe I could have spent more beneficial time and be more productive in my community.

I love cruising and enjoy staying up to date on cruising news with my fellow Cruise Critic members of whom many have become lifetime friendships.

This is just my opinion and let me get back to posting! It’s COOL,😁

Wait  - what? You mean we don’t get free laundry after a certain number of posts?😱

That is so cool!  I love it.  I see you have a regular size IPad, I have the mini.  I'll have to see if there is one for a mine.

Thanks to the reminder from the HAL automated phone call today I finished our check in and WOW our cruise really feels REAL.  I have to wait until August 25th to do the Health Assessment but I've added it to my calendar so I don't forget and get another automated phone call.

Tomorrow DM has a doctor's appointment so I'll be checking in later than usual.  It's for the results of her PET scan.  Then on Thursday she has 2 appointments, first the pulmonologist then the radiologist.

Ditto. I couldn’t get on CC with my iPad this morning. As we were leaving for the ferry, it finally let me post, but didn’t actually accept it in the end. It let me post seven hours later.

Good evening.  I finally got back to the Daily after busy afternoon.  Except for the down time while the update was being updated, I never had a problem while I was on my laptop.  But on my tablet and on my iPad, it was a different story.  Most of the day, I could not like a post; then, all of a sudden about an hour ago or less, everything started working again.  🤞 that it continues to work.  There's been enough  drama today.

@lazey1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANE

@rafinmd Roy, I hope the new cardiologist works out.  A doctor is so important.

@Sharon in AZ. Hope your DM has a good report from her PET scan.

To end the day, we just had RAIN-we're directly across from SEA TAC airport. Huge drops came down for almost 5 minutes and now the thunder has started. A few more drops here and there with some darkish clouds hanging around. Fingers crossed they don't blow away. It's been 49 days without rain in the rainy Seattle area.

Rain has made it up into the mountains again, but lots of thunder and lightning. Already a couple new fires from lightning strikes; hopefully the rain will put them out before they grow. The forest fuel is really dry and ready to go.
