Question for those reading…

Tonight is formal night. Should I wear a gold tie or a blue tie?

👍😜

Why not go with both?  Just change ties at random times throughout the evening and see if anyone noticed

When I was on the Serenade in 2018, there were a couple of cabinets of books to the left, before you entered the Safari Lounge. Not really a library per se, and I’m not sure if there are even any books there anymore.

Thank you.

Hi Neighbor,

I'm also on the Sept 6th sailing.  I just moved from Woodstock, GA to Jasper, GA in May.  See you guys on board.

Sandy

Hi Sandy,

We moved to Griffin a little over 13 years ago.

Excited to go back to Alaska.... it has been over 10 years since the last time we were there. Looking forward to meeting you.

We were in Vancouver on our Alaska cruise and did a whale watching excursion with a naturalist. So many whales. One surfaced right next to the boat we were on, mouth wide open. Awesome. The whale dove down and left a trail of poop behind. The naturalist was so excited about that. He had never seen it happen in all his years of being a naturalist. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go.

Actually, I do see a Mendenhall/Whale Watching/Wildlife Quest excursion.  It is JU40.

I wonder if it has to do with my cruises being in Oct. I only have JU39, which is just Whale Watching & Wildlife. I will keep an eye on it, and see if it changes.

Days will be shorter in October.

Is it possible for you to post the Cruise Compasses? Also, I just read on another thread that the Windjammer is open 6-8:30pm on Anthem, is it open on Serenade yet?

Thanks again for taking your vacation time to answer questions 🙂

Sorry for the negligence in updating. Internet cropped on me last night.

Y’all got out voted in the tie.  DW wanted white with silver. She gets what she wants. DB420384-4FF0-4EB4-A90E-C22FA53E0131.thumb.jpeg.bab4adb4613f43c210648f508c1946d1.jpeg

main dining room was great last night. Honestly, I don’t want to overstate it but the beef tenderloin is absolutely amazing. I’m sorry no food porn pics but it didn’t look a lot different than night two except it came with cheese covered scalloped potatoes.

So far, as a novice, I’m only down $30 at the casino after hours of play. I’ve quite enjoyed blackjack. The dealers have been kind to an obvious novice.

“Funk it up” was great last night. So much energy. Everyone seems to know the cruise is ending and is dancing and engaging so much more than earlier. The Centrum and the R bar is the place to be.

Slept late and missed breaky at Chops. Windjammer bacon is definitely better. They have a mix of crispy and limp to please all. Heading to windjammer for a late lunch.  I’ll leave you with a few pics. The rainbow in Ketchikan was a great send off. More later…

Sun is out, hanging above the pool deck.

This doesn’t.feel like an Alaskan cruise any more. The sun is baking me alive

Spent a couple hours in the casino this afternoon. I’m am now officially $40 ahead. I have no idea how much cash passed through my hand but I know I have more than I started. 🙂

Not bad for a novice.

Hopefully you are still ahead of the DBP!

How many days has the pool been open?

I’ve laid a death blow on the DBP.  Score to tbd after this evening is wrapped up.

Pool has been open every sea day for sure. I saw it open several other days, I’m just not sure which. I only noticed it actually closed once and even then the Hot tubs were open. I spent very little time in the Solarium.

Final night in the main dining room was good. Oddly it seemed quiet. Which doesn’t make sense with the Windjammer out of service in the evenings.

Again, the meal was good. I started with the Salmon Gravlax and went with the Prime Rib for the main.

I had the Pavlova for dessert. Sorry no picture. After dinner, as much of a walk as my wretched knee would allow.

After that the worst part of the cruise… Having to pack up…

I’m going try to keep the party going as long as I can tonight.  DW ha already crashed for the evening. I’m thinking maybe a little more casino and then wrap up with the final show from “Funk it up” at the safari club. We’ll see

There may be a picture or two a little later tonight and a summary in a day or two.

Thanks for following along

Thank you.

On Serenade's Boston-Florida repo in fall 2019 there were 3 bookcases near the pool tables and each one had three or four shelves of books.  With cruising just re-opening, and with Covid concerns, it might be different now.  Have a great time!

I checked there.  There were just empty book shelves.  It would appear to be a Covid casualty.
