Pinnacle Lounge

God bless anyone who has the financial means and time to achieve pinnacle status. If I live another 20 years maybe just maybe I’ll hit 340 points. And please don’t take what I said personally before I was just busting chops.  I enjoy meeting fellow cruisers who share the passion.

Yep...Nov 1st....Why would they let them have access if they have their own PL.

So on Vision they get the whole VCL ??

Since the Suite Lounge typically overflows into the VCL, this means that there will be mingling. 😄

Very long lines and disorganized. Even when suites or upper level show up on time or just before it makes no difference you're just in line behind 1k people. Some have said it was a nightmare of about 1-2 hour wait.

We boarded allure in pc on Sunday, and it only took us 30 minutes from curb to having lunch in windjammer,

As a D+ when we sailed on Anthem the CL was one of the few things on this ship we loved...great location with wake view and it's own restroom. The P's can have the Music Hall (hated that place)...wasn't the DL nextdoor I believe...didn't like that either....they used the Music Hall for DL overflow on my cruise.

Yuk on the  Music Hall.  It will be difficult to control the overflow AND I can smell the smoke wafting up from the casino. Not to mention it's dismal compared to the CL.  Hope this is really very temporary.

With vouchers now the norm, I doubt we will ever see overflow lounges again.

The CL on Quantum class will become SL. Odyssey already labeled that way. Pins not allowed in SL seems to be the future.

Highly doubt there will be anymore overflows

Embrace the inevitable

I'm wondering if they will blame a typo on excluding Diamonds from the top tier event or if they plan to hold those events in a conference room.

And yes I'm sure they will want to be able to spread out the attendees.

The whole ship will be Diamond by this time next year😉

Ending the use of adjacent venues as overflow areas, I believe, has been RCL’s goal for some time.  They just hadn’t been able to figure out how to get it done until now.  Of course, the advisory says it’s in place through November 1, so time will tell what happens then.  Back to overflow areas?

Just can't see a need for overflows with the expanded voucher system.  Overflows existed when they had fixed hours and unlimited swill during HH

Royal has indicated that vouchers around ship or in the DL is permanent.

Anthem has been using the upper level of the Music Hall for overflow of the DL for years.  They know how to control it.  They use the area adjacent to the DL, near the pool tables.  In the past, they have set up a temporary bar in that area and an additional buffet.  When there are really high numbers, they use the entire upper level.  They could easily have a Pinnacle lounge there and even keep a DL overflow.  No, it doesn't have the views of the CL, which is likely a SL now, but the CL/SL had a major overcrowding issue.

Hello,

With the temporary removal of the Pinnacles to their own lounge, if we find ourselves in a permanent state of temporaryness, is it not an opportune time to grant JS suite pax access to the Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen? Whilst the number of pins is variable, the maximum number of JS passengers is a known.

This would mirror Celebrity where the Sky suite, the mirror image of the JS, has its occupants able to access The Retreat and the Luminea restaurant.

Regards,

Cublet

I'm not 100% sure, but Laura may have had Cheryl Crow as a student back in '84.

She tought geometry for elementary school teachers at University of Missouri.

I bet they just wanted to soak up the sun, and got their 45 on.

All due respect to the pins and my apologies to Guns n Roses

Welcome to the Pin Bin, we got tags with names
We got all the points you want with Crown and Anchor fame

If they don’t get it, they just need a little patience…

Read the following to the tune of GNR Patience, and a sense of humour for all the liberties taken.

I've been walking the promenade at night

With daily drink vouchers on my account

Just trying to use them up right
It's hard to see with so many Pinns around
You know I don't like being stuck in the Pinnacle lounge

with The Pinnacle crowd,

gotta have some patience

and the streets don't change but maybe the gold tag names
I ain't got time for the Pinn lounge game

cause I need you
Yeah yeah yeah
Cause I need you

Ooo, Coastal Kitchen I need you

All it takes is patience
While waiting in the embarkation line

Whoa I need you

Just a little patience

I can only speak to my most recent experience on her. I did not see a major overcrowding issue when it was limited to Suite and Pinnacle for the couple of months I was on her before the pandemic started.  I rarely saw anyone in there during the day, and apart from formal nights it was sparsely populated.

Last time we sailed Anthem was right before they made the change to just suites and pinnacles.  It was packed but we were able to get one of the added tables over by Ricardo's desk.  Some just came in, grabbed a drink and left since there were no seats.  Other sailings, we had similar issues.

January and Feb. were very nice in the CL - lots of seats but there were a number of disgruntled D+ passengers early on in January that voiced their displeasure to Ricardo, rather loudly, I might add.

I bet there were, we heard rumblings of the change coming on that last sailing.  Some were very vocal about it then.  We use either lounge and will continue to do that depending on who we are traveling with.
