PelicanBill Posted September 1, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2021 Larry doesn't appear to be heading toward the Caribbean or US. But conditions are good to develop into a Category 3 storm so will be tracking in case the path changes.
PelicanBill Posted September 1, 2021 Author #2 Share Posted September 1, 2021 Expected to be a hurricane tonight. Expected to pass well east of Bermuda, however, as a category 3 storm Bermuda will feel some effects and have very rough surf on the east and south shores. Bermuda is the small black dot in the full square on the left where you see some outlyer model tracks making curves.
JamieLogical Posted September 3, 2021 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2021 Looking more on track for Bermuda now.
PelicanBill Posted September 3, 2021 Author #4 Share Posted September 3, 2021 Larry is getting big and powerful. Surf and rip current warnings are up for the northern Caribbean islands. Bermuda needs to prepare. I don't like the track now. It's within 150 miles.
PelicanBill Posted September 4, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted September 4, 2021 Larry is steaming along. Watching that path closely, as is the Bermuda Weather Service!
PelicanBill Posted September 4, 2021 Author #6 Share Posted September 4, 2021 I think it is safe to say Cruise lines will have to make some changes. Anyone in port will likely leave by late Wednesday to be well away, and nobody will arrive before Saturday. That's my guess.
PelicanBill Posted September 5, 2021 Author #7 Share Posted September 5, 2021 Nothing really changed for today (Sunday.)
PelicanBill Posted September 6, 2021 Author #8 Share Posted September 6, 2021 Same story for Sunday night. Expecting a tight curve that spares Bermuda.
rkacruiser Posted September 7, 2021 #9 Share Posted September 7, 2021 I am reading that the East Coast can expect some significant swells and rip tides due to Larry. Given how far out to sea the storm is, for significant swells to be experienced along the Atlantic Coast is impressive.

Yes! it's a product of the storm being large and strong (cat. 3) and how long it is sitting there at such strength. Imagine the south and east shores of Bermuda!
PelicanBill Posted September 8, 2021 Author #11 Share Posted September 8, 2021 A little lower strength now, but the path is consistent.
PelicanBill Posted September 9, 2021 Author #12 Share Posted September 9, 2021 Larry is directly east of Bermuda but safely away other than rough surf which is also reaching the US East coast now.
PelicanBill Posted September 11, 2021 Author #13 Share Posted September 11, 2021 And you thought we were done with Larry... when have you ever heard this?
