No more tracelets for covid tracing on equinox (9/2021)

Interesting.  They depended upon those on the 8/27 Equinox cruise to send a number of people to 'cabin jail' for two days while they tested and repeated for negative.

I wonder if they're having second thoughts about the reliability of the 'tracelet' data for some reason?

Don't think any of the 'older' non-Revolution ships have facial rec software (BriefCam) available for identification, either, except for the gangways.  Can anyone confirm?

Today is embarkation and no tracelets.

No idea how they are doing contact tracing, if any.

There were tracelets on the previous cruise (8/27)

Same on Allure. Any reason or explanation or is that too much to ask?

I believe there is a transition happening to facial recognition for tracing but I have no idea which, if any, of the Celebrity ships have this yet.  Some Royal ships definitely have it.

On Equinox about 2 years ago, I made a comment on the card they leave in your cabin on the third day or so, and that very evening around 8 PM, the hotel director found me in  Craft Social and addressed my concern. So they can definitely trace you by facial recognition. Because of that experience, I have wondered why the "tracelets".

Royal seems to be doing away with the tracelets too.   No tracelets on the Oasis sailing out of Cape Liberty this week.  But I did hear Serenade out of Alaska wore tracelets this past cruise.

No Tracelets on the Sept 6th Serenade OTS.

They just broadcast ship wise on Equinox (even in staterooms) for a person to call Guest Relations.   Hmmmm...  Some have said on my thread that someone was removed from the ship in St. Thomas in a scuba hazmat type outfit on a stretcher.

That sounds like more than a positive test on the way to the airport to be flown home on a Celebrity charter. Someone is sick.

I hope efforts to keep others safe are successful.
