There has to be a cabin available in the category to generate a fare. For example if you are booked in an SV and they are sold out, you could not reprice until there was an SV cabin open.

I have two Edge cruises that would save about $500 each, one within final payment, one before final. January Apex is till higher than we booked, January 2023 Equinox not eligible.

I've noticed that the extra discounts available on the main website are not always showing  (lovely IT) when you call to book direct with them.  I had already decided that booking myself and then calling to have the last play discounts applied is the way to go. Next time.  But... if I upgrade to the next category?

 

I'd rather not keep holding (disconnected after the first 20minute hold)...now on an hour...if the answer is 'get lost'.

Wow 2 of my 4 cruises are lower, OBC here I come!  By the time I am done I will be shopping at Tiffany's onboard Edge next month.

We have B2B on Edge in January 2022.  Repriced to save about $900 for each cruise.  Had to hold for an hour but it was worth it.🙂

Jeremiah1212, thank you for the information. Travel agent was able to reduce cost for 11 day Equinox cruise late next year by $1000 for my wife and me.

As usual, the lower categories don't seem to be reduced??  Anyone have an inside that is reduced 🙂 ?

Answer to my own question.... no to reprice.  Technically, if booked at casino discount, through their department, you can only upgrade after final payment and the best price guarantee does NOT apply.  However, I have heard of many, and was told by a different agent last month, that you could reprice for onboard credit if the price dropped, even after final payment.  This new guy was going to 'go to bat for me', however I just chose to UPGRADE to a higher category (S1) and instead of onboard credit, I got a smaller amount refunded outright.  Works for me.  SO many details and workarounds one has to know about. Sharing.

Thanks for sharing this.  I've always wondered whether I could reprice my BCC-discounted fare if it dropped--now I know and won't bother calling.

That might have something to do with fixed costs versus variable costs.  The actual operating cost per passenger is pretty much the same irrespective of the cabin type (think food, beverage, hospitality staff, administrative services, entertainment, etc.)  The exception to this would probably be for suite passengers where the staff to passenger ratio is presumably higher.  So, when Celebrity cuts prices, they are calculating the revenue difference between lower per room profit vs. empty cabins.  There is a lot more operating profit for an Aqua stateroom than an inside cabin, so there is more to discount and still have a net positive cashflow for the room.

Thank you!  My son will get $500 OBC on the cruise we are taking them on.  My suggestion to them once it shows on account - cancel the excursions they picked & rebook them with the OBC.  With the all inclusive pricing, there isn't much else for them to spend the money on.

We will have $1400 in OBC. With some ports requiring cruise line excursions we will use  about $600 on excursions, Chefs table another $200+, have been waiting to buy a new IPad until we see what is available on the ship, extra tips for the Butler & Cabin Attendant - poof it’s gone.  If there isn’t a IPad I want then a few bottles of Caymus or sometime in the casino.  We would never buy jewelry or art on a ship.

Perhaps I have an issue 😬 but I could blow through that very easily. A bottle of wine, some time in the spa, maybe a cabana for a day or two, watch shopping, a stop by the iLounge and it’s all gone!

Amen to that.  Just picked up $850 (pp!) *additional*  OBC on a 5 night - but, it's followed by a 10 night as a B2B.  So... I will buy wine on first leg and hold much of it in cabin for second leg!

Sale didn't help me, I dont think any discount will match what I got for 11, ABC island cruise .day with everything in concierge 1250 pp with all taxes/fees  Got it last year on one of the big box stores specials.  Have not seen anything near that since or before.  

 

Looking at ones for next year to see if anything is interesting overall.  Do have All Inclusives planned out already for next year so will see if I can fit a cruise in

Just the main reservation number, unless you have a TA or a Celebrity cruise planner.  I was on hold about 30 minutes and I called at 10:30am.

Its easy to use the $1500 OBC. All you have to do is go to the casino, take out money by charging to your stateroom card as if you are going to gamble with it, then cash out your ticket.

It looks like in some cases they are raising the fare then subtracting 20% to get the same price as before.  I looked at Spain / Portugal end of October 2022 and compared with same from October 12.  Same price with discount.

I am not sure that it works quite that way.  (Unless something has changed since our last Celebrity cruise in the fall of 2019.)  We got chips to play blackjack, and they came as promo chips.  They can be played, but not cashed.  So you play the promo chips until they are gone and set aside the "real" chips you win on winning hands.  That way you can run through, let's say, $500 worth of OBC and end up with, maybe $400-$600 of real chips at the end.

If there is some simpler way to just put credits on your stateroom card and then cash them in without having to play them, that would be good to know!

Was on hold for an hour and five minutes, but saved $940 on our January cruise, and $1160 on our May cruise.  They repriced the cruises, since final payment has not been paid.  I'm pretty happy.  The rep said to check back as they may have other discounts at a later date.
