Can you get a tan while in the Solarium?

Saw someone putting on sun tan lotion there.

The Solarium (next to spa cafe) is like the pool deck.

It has a pool but is completely enclosed by glass.

I would have thought the Solarium glass would filter out the harmful rays which causes you to get a tan?

It is always possible but unlikely if someone were very sensitive to light.   UV light does go through glass even filtered but only about 150-15% ov the UVB rays penetrate the glass.

My daughter had a bone marrow transplant and while in isolation the nurse saw her sitting in the sun and insisted she put SPF 30 on.   A sunburn to a transplant patient can cause rejection so they were very protective.

I also remember Pilots saying they get tan through the cockpit window.
