Why are CARNIVAL cruise prices so low right now?

You're not 'stuck' SNJ.  You do it willingly.

True, because 20+ ships in the Carnival fleet are junk when you compare them to their competition and because of this they are in my rearview mirror unless for some reason Carnival comes up with an itinerary on one of the older ships that is better than the competition.  I certainly will not be holding my breath for that.

I don't consider it stuck, I'll gladly pay full price and skip spending tons of time on vacation in a smoky casino while spending tons of money. Just not my cup of tea.

When I meant stuck I was not just talking about the deals that the gamblers got,  but also including the deals that West coast based cruisers were getting on the Panorama and other promotional sailings being target marketed to select clientele.

Galveston is carnivals cash cow john heald said in person within my hearing.

Rcl allure will be there hopefully by oct 2022 when terminal 3 is completed.

Ncl pima the new ship the news says will port out of Galveston by dec 2023. Kinda expensive. 1500 for a studio but includes 1/2  off airfare and drinks and speciality and all that other stuff.

Carnival is losing loyal customers, .. some big bright new ships are coming in to compete. Carnival would do well to wake up and try and keep pax loyal. I think you said you booked the ncl prima. So you must think it's worth the price.

I'm booked on the Prima for an 11 day repo leaving on Halloween 2022 out of Galveston and going to Miami, with 5 port stops of Cozumel, Aruba, Bonaire,  Curacao & Great Stirrup Cay.  The cruise prior to that starts in NYC, makes the sane itinerary in reverse and ends in Galveston.   We are also booked in September of 2023 out of London on the Prima going to Belfast, Dublin, 3 stops in Iceland including an overnight in Reykjavik and 3 stops in Norway.  I'm deciding now between a 7 day on her out of PC or a 7 day on the Celebration at the end of February in 2023.

News says prima will port out of Galveston for a year. Prices start 1448 for a solo cabin with all the perks.

Allure is also a great ship which will compete with carnival now. .. out of Galveston.  I guess take over terminal 2 from rcl. There was a news release yesterday about prima porting out of Galveston for a year into 2024 starting 2023. Lol even my rcl groups for Galveston posted the news release about prima. Carnival needs to watch its Ps and Qs with 2 awesome ships moving in.

I WISH that people who book cruises, like me, could be offered $100 cruises. Yep, I know you gotta be a gambler, which I’m not.

So, I pay ‘regular’ prices and am grateful I can go at all.

TILL …. 🤣🤣… I read threads like this … and the little Bobbi in me …. Cries “It’s not fair”. 🥲🥲

🛳🛳

Our friend only puts about 50.00 for the week in casino and gets these offers 🙂

I have these deals too, now for 2022 & 2023, so I'm going to jump and book a couple.  Not a full transit, but just booked a balcony ex Baltimore for partial Panama Canal at those costs, plus, plus, plus!  Have a few more on hold while I decide!

Honestly, why are you on this board then?  Have a nice life.

I got an email a couple of days ago that linked to a bunch of $10 inside cabins, $25 ocean view. I don't gamble often in the casino so I know I didn't earn it that way. I honestly thought their website had been hacked. I selected something from all the available ones and put it on hold for 24 hours. I called my PVP to see if this was legit. He assured me that it was. I could not pass up an 8 day southern Caribbean cruise for two in a OV cabin at $450 with taxes and port charges included. $56 a day for room, food and entertainment. Shoot my car payment is more then that. I feel very fortunate to have received this opportunity and pray that each one of you receive an offer like this as well.

I hope carnival reads these boards and knows how people feel who arent chosen. Someone should speak up.

Really? Is there anywhere other than these boards that cruise prices get discussed? When you sit at your dining room table, do all of you compare prices? If you are satisfied with what you paid or possibly with any price drops you had, why should what others pay matter to you?

Usualy when I travel, I pretty much know the prices and I know where and how I am going to spend it. If you find something way too overpriced or expensive, its better to avoid it

Lol no one else in my family cruises. If they knew how much I spent cruising I think they would faint.

Nope just here. I think those who dont get these offers should speak up. Maybe it will spur carnival to be more fair. Send some of these offers my way or to SNJ. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Even on my roll calls I rarely see a actual price. Rcl a bunch say check your prices or I just got a spacious balcony for 867 total. Go check quick. But they know we all kinda see the same prices, though not exact as different TAs and balconys discounts etc apply.

On carnival roll calls I dont ever see prices discussed. .. just I couldnt resist this deal. This is only place I know of people post their prices. Where else do you see them?

Yes I think for those who dont already know it was mentioned above.

Not sure I would pick it over ncl or allure unless its priced lower. I left a phone message for my old pvl who was on leave, not sure if she is back about how do I get these offers. I'll keep pushing.

Cause I have 5 cruises currently booked on Excel Class ships, that's why.   I'm also booked on B2B cruises on the Celebrity Apex and the Discovery Princess, as well as multiple bookings on the Norwegian Prima, all of them being the newest ships in their prospective fleets.

So, it looks like I do in fact have a nice life.

We sailed the Mardi Gras last month and I liked it way more than NCL’s and RCL’s newer ships.  Decor and layout reminded me of both NCL and RCL but I thought free food options (Guys Burgers, Burritos, Chicken sandwich’s, pizza, plus Pig and Anchor, Cucina and Chibang) were way better options than the other two and the pay restaurants were right on par with the others.  Carnival way upped their game with Mardi Gras.

But rcl gives me 4 or 5 free drinks a day, worth something. By next year rcl will give me a added perk of 50% of the solo supplement. I'm loyal to my pocketbook. I did love oasis so far best of any ship I've been on and the extra food choices so I'm sure I'd like mardi gras, but the free pay options will most likely be gone before a new excel ship hits Galveston.  I'm going with the best value, plus I feel slighted by carnival picking and choosing who to give deals to which makes me favor rcl, though I might give ncl a try again.

Not saying if the price was right I wouldnt do a excel ship out of Galveston.  I said after the way carnival treated me after ike and dumped me in new orleans I'd never do carnival again, but here i am. Never say never. Carnival stinks in emergencies imo. Lots of time. Right now i also prefer that rcl has vaccinated areas for shows. I watched 3 shows on vista wearing a mask and i never went back. Just as one of the reasons right now rcl is preferred. Half the capacity etc.

That all makes sense.  Oasis was just OK for us.  Had a bad experience with them remodeling a suite right before we sailed and we didn’t even have enough beds for everyone.  It was the largest 4 bedroom suite they changed to two suites and rooms became smaller because of that.  Ship was awesome at the time but I actually liked Mardi Gras better.  Food is always a personal choice but I like Carnivals free options vs NCL or RCL.  That’s not even counting pig and anchor, cucina or Chibang.

I can’t believe you’re not getting offers like others.  We have two booked next year and did receive the $25 offers last week.  We too are just a few days short of Diamond but we do receive a lot of casino offers.
