royal caribbean carlisle beach break or beach hop island style

We will be in Barbados in January and usually just do a taxi to the beach but heard we will need to do a cruise excursion to get off the ship.  Has anyone done either excursion or have any recommendations?  thanks

We also typically just walk off and walk to a beach or catch a cab.  We have been to Carlisle Beach and it was very nice with a bit of the party atmosphere.  We considered the beach hoping, but worried about spending too much time driving from beach to beach.  If you have not seen the island this could be a positive, but having been there numerous times, we just want to go to the beach and chill.

We're also going in January  of 2022. We're hoping that by then we'll be able to grab a taxi on our own to a beach.

Carlisle Beach is very nice- we took an excursion thru the ship and had a good day with

very little travel.  Bathrooms and changing rooms available.

I believe in the past I had a local take me out on a skiff to swim

with turtles. Did you see that going on?
