If you’re willing, I would like to meet up, since I’ve “seen” you on Cruise Critic for years. If you email lmzaffiro at gmail dot com, would you like to say where you have a drink before dinner on this cruise? We are normally at the Atlas Bar from 7pm, but also in the Living Room to get our backsides kicked at afternoon trivia from 4 pm.
PAtravelbug Posted January 5, 2023 #2502 Share Posted January 5, 2023 Onward in port and soon will be ready for the next passengers. Looks like we are in terminal c like that last few times. It’s a lovely ship with a special crew. Enjoy!

aliaschief Posted January 5, 2023 #2504 Share Posted January 5, 2023 We just had an easy two o’clock embarkation on Onward. Really like the Continental Suite which we are booked for the 2024 World Cruise. This is our test run. Captain Gianmario Sanguineti is Master of the ship and Elizebeth Vogel boarded today as Hotel Director. New Star Link Wi Fi so far is good and we received a good deal of one user at a time Wi Fi for entire cruise. Room card holders(gray) one per couple so glad I brought my old one. Yes the room had a tote bag and the ship looks great. Most importantly is the crew is all smiles and accommodating. Staff told us 600 passengers on board this cruise. Time to get ready for sail away and will drop in at say hi at M&G at 5:30 in Card Room. Life is good🍾
tgg Posted January 5, 2023 #2505 Share Posted January 5, 2023 Hi AliasChief: Sorry we didn't get to sail with you again. Happily, we have insurance. Just a word of caution: watch out for the very sharp corners on the shower grab bar. It is very close to the shower head and packs quite a wallop when you're washing your hair and you lower your arms. That grab bar should have been place closer to the middle of the shower, closer to the door. Have a great time.

aliaschief Posted January 6, 2023 #2510 Share Posted January 6, 2023 It’s been a pretty sea day from the start. Lite choppy seas and a smooth ride on the Onward. Last night’s entertainment review showed we indeed have some talented entertainers on-board. We also have a couple of guest lecturers, water color artist teacher and classes along with a Bridge (card) instructor. A pianist guest entertainer tonight and a mentalist later on cruise. Last night our CD stated we have 633 guest aboard and it does feel a little busier than our cruise on Quest last March. Over thirty folks had signed up for M&G and four of us couples showed up. No staff from Onward. Just feel this is a bad time and maybe should be held on first sea day. Little slow in MDR last night which seems a norm. Quite a few guest appear to be first time cruisers. Quite a few were denied entry into main dining room Discovery last night and told they could not eat there while wearing shorts. One tip to speed up dining is to kind of know what you want before you go. Some tables it appeared waiter took orders from undecided guest for ten minutes or so. Ship looks great, staff seems eager to please and this new Star Link internet is fastest I have ever experienced. Bottom line is we are having a great time and life is good aboard Azamara Onward. We did announce on Roll Call the previous cruise time and venue location. No problem as we met some nice people and even a couple that will be joining us on World Cruise. Life is good on Onward and yes elevators look like they have been freshly repainted and rails. Progress in motion. We are happy cruisers.

aliaschief Posted January 7, 2023 #2517 Share Posted January 7, 2023 Another beautiful sea day as we sail past Haiti on our Starboard side. We enjoyed yesterday’s sea day with some sunning, attended some guest lectures, cocktails in Atlas Bar followed by a very nice dining experience in Aqualina. After dinner we went to Cabaret Lounge and enjoyed our guest pianist. Older gentlemen who used to open for Liberace in Las Vegas. Fantastic pianist and he had the place rocking especially with his version of Jerry Lee Lewis Great Balls Of Fire. Today a little more sunning, reading and have plans to attend guest lectures. Ship is featuring a large brunch extravaganza but we just savored a lighter breakfast enjoyed outdoors at Windows. Tonight we will dine at Prime C and attend our CD’s Matt’s show in Cabaret Lounge. We are thoroughly enjoying our second Azamara experience and looking forward to more. We feel our Continental Suite 8033 will definitely meet our needs for the 2024 World Cruise. Happy and very satisfied cruisers here. Bruce & Sue 8

aliaschief Posted January 8, 2023 #2519 Share Posted January 8, 2023 (edited) It was a pretty sail into St Thomas this morning and as we arrived those of us enjoying breakfast on the aft terrace were treated to a vivid rainbow. Last night we enjoyed cocktails in Atlas Bar followed by dinner in Prime C. Wonderful service and the chauteaubriand was perfect. Chef’s special dessert of rum raisin soufflé was delicious. After dinner we enjoyed the ships band playing big band popular tunes followed by our CD Matt who put on a great show. Met a couple who were on the inaugural cruise. They showed pictures of what it was like! Happy to say I haven’t seen anything that even resembles those pictures. They have done an excellent job of bringing Onward up to standard. We are enjoying our day be the pool. Life is good on the beautiful Onward. Edited January 8, 2023 by aliaschief

aliaschief Posted January 10, 2023 #2521 Share Posted January 10, 2023 (edited) We are in Saint Lucia today and it’s a pretty nice day but we have had a couple of lite showers. Hopefully it will clear off so we enjoy White Night by the pool. We really enjoyed our dining experience last night at the Chef’s Table. It was the Stateside Theme menu. There was a typo on menu. They did not offer white wine with beef or Red with fish! Here are some pics for foodies! Edited January 10, 2023 by aliaschief 5

aliaschief Posted January 10, 2023 #2523 Share Posted January 10, 2023 We have been enjoying trying the different cocktail selections offered at Atlas Bar. Some tasty concoctions. Wi Fi has been so good that we have been able to watch long video streams.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted January 10, 2023 #2524 Share Posted January 10, 2023 That's a great addition to the Chef's Table rotation! If they had offered it on our recent cruise we would certainly have signed up for the 3-Table special.
