Iona tracking

Been tracking iona this morning not sure but looks like she is going to vigo I thought she was heading to Madeira first unless they have changed itineraries?

She has changed course for Vigo and is going flat out at 19 knots. Due to arrive at 15.00 so not a normal port call

Looks like she is about 45 mins from docking .continued  at 19 knots turning 60 degrees at full speed .

Yes the stop on AIS definitely says Vigo.

Strange, I can't find that cruise she is on on any website.  Anyone know the number?

yes, on The Telegraph website.  Portugal joins France and Italy in blocking tourists from UK.  Don't know any more details, but to go to France you need a compelling reason, like sick relative.

No ventura a day in front of iona on her way to Madeira. I am guess a medic alert or something of that nature

OK, well you are probably right.  Another website says visiting Portugal is OK but you never know which to believe.

On fb there are reports of a diversion to Vigo, no reason given and they will be late into Madeira.

Port tender coming along side might be taking someone off so she doesnt need to dock will monitor to see if that's the case

Meanwhile Ventura got as far as Funchal harbour entrance and is now heading South ?

edit - Oceanweather site shows bad conditions at Madeira

Apparently it's too windy for Ventura to dock, and I'm not sure Iona will be able to either.

That will make flying in and out problematic as well. Funchal is an ''interesting" airport at the best of times !

It was a passenger emergency we were informed. Hoping the passenger is OK and their companions are OK too at what would be a very anxious time for them
