Rare cruisestitch Posted January 5, 2022 Author #26 Share Posted January 5, 2022 I am in The Ocean view Café buffet tonight for dinner, social distancing is not an issue. If there’s 30 people in the whole place, I’m surprised. As for the MDR, usually they set up a “sharing table” but that has been discontinued for this cruise. Also at lunch today, they would not let me share a table with people I am not traveling with.

Lucia,Barbados, Antigua, St. Kitts That was our early December itinerary as well. If you are restricted to ship's tours in St. Kitts (and even it you're not), I highly recommend the St. Kitts Scenic Railway. One of the most enjoyable afternoons we've ever spent! Enjoy your cruise!

Interested to see what you do in each port! We're booking cruise excursions as backups but really hope we can go on own or with a local operator. Thank you and enjoy! sayvan Posted January 5, 2022 #31 Share Posted January 5, 2022 Following… B2B starting Feb 25. With all these Silhouette threads it’s starting to feel like I’m onboard for a few months… well until I look out my Window…
Peery5 Posted January 5, 2022 #32 Share Posted January 5, 2022 We are on Silhoette also now. Heard 980 passengers. Plenty of room to social distance. Casino must have been source of some problems last cruise. It was not open after dinner last night. According to someone in guest relations it will only be open today slots-4 to midnight tables 7:30 to midnight. For the most part everyone wearing masks. Of course a few who feel the rules don’t apply to them are roaming. Ship really feels empty and it is so nice. I would have preferred a little more spread on tables in MDR but fortunately two nearby tables were no shows.

When we were on board in early December, despite our asking the host (Select Dining) to seat us at a two-top that was not on top of its neighbors (one of the few pre-pandemic negatives of Celebrity), and despite Celebrity's Healthy at Sea protocol of socially distanced tables, we were told there were no such tables. I'd read on here to ask for the Maitre d', so we did, and miraculously they walked us to such tables. Not sure if this is still the case, but in the rear second half of each side of the upper level of the MDR, there were a huge number of two-tops that had been well-separated from their neighbors AND the tables between had been blocked off. If they continue to expect you to eat mere inches from others, I suggest speaking to the Maitre d' and, if that doesn't work, the Hotel Director. Good luck, stay healthy, and enjoy your cruise! Rare cruisestitch Posted January 5, 2022 Author #35 Share Posted January 5, 2022 Yes approx 980 passengers due to the triple whammy of CDC pronouncement, cancelled flights And difficulty of Canadian passengers (who normally would have made up a large percentage of passengers on this time and itinerary) getting to and from US. the ship feels quite empty my steward only has nine staterooms to clean. She said it feels like a vacation. 3

But my DW would definitely be lined up waiting for the Slot Machines!😀 I'm curious- for most wearing masks by your observation, are they the cloth type masks? Or medical, surgical, N95 or KN95? The cloth masks (unless double - masked) are almost entirely useless for Omicron.

She said it feels like a vacation. It would seem the suite are not at 100%. Recently it seems like Celebrity has been maximizing the Retreat guests. Or perhaps it is full and they are assigning less cabins to each steward. (Not dedicated to suites). The personal retreat host might be a different story. How is the revised Retreat Lounge after the upgrades? I was in the minority, but I always liked the old Michael’s Club. I will admit that the Retreat Lounge on the Apex was a fabulous multi function area including outside seating. Enjoy your cruise.

The cloth masks (unless double - masked) are almost entirely useless for Omicron. Because this mask requirement had not been announced ahead of time, and no one found out about it until they got the letter on the ship, there was absolutely no time to choose what kind of mask to bring. The ship provided cloth Celebrity masks for each passenger and that is what most people are wearing. And since omicron is not the only variant that is out there, most passengers simply wear whatever mask they have, and try to stay away from other people

Rare cruisestitch Posted January 5, 2022 Author #47 Share Posted January 5, 2022 No food allowed off the ship. Most islands let you bring unopened waters, bottles or cans. They make special mention of not bringing disposable coffee cups off the ship.
