Substituting a solo performer for a production show isn't a "little routine change", nor is closing the casino.

I find nothing regrettable about people describing changes in the cruise.

Please stop throwing stones at your fellow cruisers. Their posts are as important as yours.

I agree.  There are ways to stay vigilant and know your surroundings about this highly contagious and vastly transmittable virus and changes as per the Currents.  I was on last cruise and now this one and there was an outstanding outside band by pool during sail aways and in horizons in the evenings.  You could not help but dance.  I am not mentioning names as to protect privacy.  They have not been seen since last eve before Miami.  There has been no replacenent bands; so not an expired contract that would be replaced. The full experience is a great pleasure.  Bottom line is to be concerned for fellow passengers/crew and act accordingly.  I have witnessed this epidemic not being taken seriously by some not wearing masks correctly,  not putting on until entering an elevator, not distancing when not wearing masks  etc.  I followed and follow suggested kn95 masks that "O" gives and USE them inside and when social distancing can not be practiced. I  even wore when dancing outside...not only as an act of respect for other guests walking close  by and crew  but for myself.  Let's just be mindful and nonjudgenental and proactive to man and woman kind.  I am aware of the circumstances and was and am willing to go with the flow for the health and well being of all and knew these things could happen.   Do not want to jump to conclusions but don't want to stick my head in the sand either.  Was told by "O" ; "operational changes" about the band entertainment mentioned above.  Just observing and reporting.

Thanks.....I am holding off with what I KNOW......what I have heard and the differences between the last cruise and this one.  There certainly are differences.  Right now I am waiting for my own test results!

Good Luck!  You were an asset to those who followed your last cruise. Everyone thanked you continuously. Who better than you to state the facts on your present cruise?

Many made their decision to cruise now or wait based on your daily posts.
I know you were going to close down your posts, but you’re actually our only connection to what is happening on board.

be well and enjoy your cruise.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion as to whether these eliminated musicians, changed shows, closed Casino and port changes are meaningless or are negativity affecting their cruise experience.

This IMHO is a perfect paragraph.  We all choose to spend our money on what WE think is acceptable.

5th test in 2 weeks and we both are negative.  I think because of the asymptomatic aspect and the promise of being quarantined it's a relief every time!  Lol

Off to Waves and Spa Terrace!

I hope you continue to test negative and continue having a wonderful time.  Your posts have given me so much information for my 2/7 cruise.

Test stress is real.

Carry on and enjoy that tasty Waves burger!

Love it when you do that.  You and I could talk music for hours!

I can understand your grief regarding the seeded buns. I do need someone to take one for the team and report back on the hot sticky buns at breakfast please.

I know it will be torturous, but please consider it a sacrifice for those who come after.

Although not a new change, another potential problem is the added safety hazard of no plastic tops for “to go” coffee from Barista’s.

These are gone as well.  At least they were on our Dec 3rd cruise.

I just asked our room attendant and she said yes.   She said it will be tight and not much floor space when you split the beds.   She also said make sure your cabin has a sofa bed because not all do.   Oh and not to pack heavy.  😀

Thank you so much! We're on the March 8th cruise, now wishing we had booked 2 rooms... 😞

We should have stopped talking about cruise stuff last night and compared notes about Pine Knob, Cobo and the Joe 😂

What is the theory behind no plastic tops? Environmental? Seems crazy due to burn danger.

I was contemplating taking my own reusable cup - do you think that would be allowed?

I applaud your attitude of carrying on in the face of adversity. We salute you!

I'll comment on the hot sticky buns, based on Jan 4 sailing.

Not impressed. Loved a lot of things onboard, but not those - to me, a lot like eating a hot dog at Waves.

:)

Pre covid it was fine

you could always pour the coffee from the paper cup into your own mug

We prefer to sit in Barristas  with proper cups ...personal choice

You could take their cup and pour the contents into your own cup.

Meanwhile, back in the frozen north.  This is what I’m looking out at and it’s still snowing.  Despite the risk (and based on the excellent reports from those currently on board), we can’t wait for our 1/28 cruise.

Your view and mine.  You deserve more!....but it does look like you have a beautiful place 🙂

Is there still sushi every night at  the Terrace? Is there a selection of nigiri and rolls? Will they make a custom hand roll? What raw fish is being used?

Sushi and a cocktail for happy hour before going to dinner is my daily routine on Oceania cruises.
