Just returned from 2/6 sailing of the Getaway. From talking to several staff, we had about 1,400 passengers on board, and 1,700 crew. Full passenger capacity is about 4,000 customers.
MtnCliner Posted February 12, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2022 January 30 sailing of the Breakaway from New Orleans. Heard 1200 pax, seemed like less.
Allen&Jane Posted February 12, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2022 The Dawn according to one staff member had 879 passengers on our Jan 29th sailing.
Karaboudjan Posted February 12, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2022 I heard various figures for the Escape on 1/29. 1500 pax seemed like the most credible.
WorkNCruise Posted February 12, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2022 Encore Jan 23 to 30th. Heard it was 1500. Several crew stated that 300 people had canceled. On this cruise you could walk up to the pool bars at anytime day or night and be served immediately. Crew came to take drink orders if you were anywhere on the pool deck, observation lounge, cigar lounge, the smoking box, anywhere on the waterfront, and pretty much any seating area close to a bar. Service in all respects was excellent. The crew were so underworked that a empty glass or a plate at any restaurant only lasted about 30 seconds before it was gone. Food and drinks from any restaurants came very fast. The bar at the buffet never had more than 1 or 2 people there at a time. On the observation deck you could sit right up front pretty much any time. This may be the best cruises you will ever be on as far as space and service.

NCL is already sailing at 100% occupancy (minus the cabins they are reserving for quarantine). The lack of passengers has nothing to do with NCL policy. The low occupancy is because customers are not choosing to sail. These numbers are terrifying from a financial standpoint. If you love NCL you want to see these numbers doubled in the VERY near future.
