Can my substantial OBC be used to purchase a FCD?  Where on the HAL website does one find the answer to these type of technical issues?  Thank you

In the past the answer to this question has been no. Any purchase of a FCD had to be made with a credit / debit card, not thru your onboard account.

Thank you.   I searched the HAL website and could not find an answer

I believe what Rich stated is still the case.  I had this discussion with my PCC prior to cruising -- and also asked if the FCD purchase would count toward onboard spending for Mariner points.  I was told "No" by PCC and found her to be correct when we made our FCD purchase onboard.  The FCD does not show up on daily spending folio and it requires a credit card for purchase.

This was our experience last week.

Thank you.  Interesting about the spending not counting toward Mariner points.  I had never thought about that.  I assume buying a FCD doesn’t count toward Mariner spending either?

This is what I'm referring to -- the purchase of the FCDs don't count toward Mariner spending.

I misread it to mean OBC spending didn’t count toward Mariner spending.  So it does?  My attention to accounting details is very limited🙃

OBC spending counts towards Mariner spending.  You can use it (assuming it’s from HAL) for anything except the casino.

The FCD you must purchase outside of it as there is OBC attached to it (although not much now 😉 ) and it allows for reduced deposits on future cruises.

Hope this helps

All spending is counted toward Mariner Points, it doesn't matter where the money comes from.
