Made me feel like it was such a waste of my time setting it up if they weren't even going to try.

Yep.   Sailing on Sunshine on Saturday.  Glad I decided to read this thread because Carnival just sent an email which said it would be FASTER to use VeriFly.

Looks like I won’t be doing this.  Thanks for the heads up.

In all fairness it says " will make embarkation a faster and more seamless experience" but that doesn't account for time it takes to pre-populate everything in the app.  Already in my experience I've spent 5mins registering/populating the app vs the ten seconds it takes them in the terminal to glance at the vax card and covid test.

It's very possible VeriFLY acceptance is embarkation terminal specific.  My previous sailing FB group says it was accepted in Tampa last weekend, I board this weekend.

Yes, bring everything.  The Verifly app told me that I didn't have to when I sailed approx. 3 weeks ago but when I got to the port they would not let us board without it.  Thankfully, I had bought the extra documents. I let them know that Verifly was saying that we didn't need to bring the documents and this was misleading and the girl at the counter got really snippy with me. I just ignored her.

We used VeriFLY on our cruise out of Jacksonville last week. We didn’t have to show our vaccine cards or test results but we had brought them just in case. It made that part of check in quicker.

Strange, we had the opposite experience. It may (unfortunately) depend on the person check you in.

Boarding Legend in Baltimore this weekend.  Just got email for Carnival to set up Verifly.  till have to set up FunHUB accounts.  We do not have digital COVID Vax records, just handwritten cards, plus a typed sticker for the booster.  Does Verfly need digital records, QR codes or barcodes?  WE get our COVIC tests done Friday for a Sunday embarkation.  Will we get something from CVS that we have to upload to Verfly or just key in the data.  This feels like another layer of burder, and if it's not needed why should I mess with it?   Thanks for sharing your experiences!  m--

LOL Given that everything in SC moves dead dog slow, I’m guessing this is no exception.

Also, it appears one should bring along the papers anyway, or chance getting turned away.

Hey there fellow Legend cruiser! Leaving Sunday too. You can upload a picture of your handwritten card for the app and they'll verify it manually.

Got my VeriFLY to accept facial photo and DH's too though his photo wouldn't take the first few times.  My Vax card photos of front and back were accepted.  DHs Vax card somehow was submitted with only one side, the name side, but it was accepted!  I couldn't get the second side submitted, I must have done something wrong, so be careful that you have selected both photos before submitting.  I'm guessing at the port someone will want to see the cards for real

So far so good, COVID tests Friday, fingers crossed!  It's all stressful!  First edocs, then FunHub, then VeriFLY....   I miss paper....

But we're making it happen! :)

I'm sailing on the Mardi Gras in a week and a half (March 26th).  Haven't gotten anything about Verifly to this point. When do you get notice that your sailing will use Verifly?

I’m on that same cruise (Mardi Gras March 26). Downloaded the app a month or more ago but it wouldn’t recognize our booking information then tried it again last weekend after I checked in and was able to load everything into the app except the Covid test results which we do next week. So you should be able to start putting your stuff in the Verifly app now.

I think it's great that they will be using Verifly.  I don't know exactly how much faster it will make the process but it'll be nice not having to bumble and fumble through all the papers for me and my family.  I still plan to bring them just in case but at least for me it's a lot easier to just hand them my phone vs dealing with the paper copies of everything.

Just used VeriFLY in New Orleans at about 9:55am. The worker saw me approach with my phone and printed boarding pass, asked if I was all set up with VeriFLY, looked at the app/pass for about 2 seconds, and then stamped me and I was on my way.  Very convieneint!

In my experience, the terminal check-in experience is so streamlined it hardly takes any time.

I've been on four cruises since the restart including a CCL one in December; the check-in workers have never spent more than a few second looking at either the vax card or Covid test.  I'm sure folks are out there who more heavily scrutinize them but I've yet to encounter anything other than a long glance. I'm trying the Verifly app on my sailing next weekend, after registering it wouldn't utilize my vax QR code I had to manually enter everything.  So far I've spent around 5 total minutes registering/populating the app and I haven't even tested yet so will still need to upload that.

I ran into the same thing but with the COVID test results this morning.  Took the Binax in home proctored test, which was negative.
Opened the VeriFly app to add the negative test, tried scanning the QR code and "not recognized".
So had to download the results to the  phone then upload that file.

It was manually approved and added within' a couple of minutes, however.

Odd that the Abbot test QR code wouldn't work.

Anyhow, got it all done including the questionnaire which is step 4 so I am all set.

On the Magic now, boarded out of Port Canaveral Saturday. We had 10 am check in and for some unexplained reason, they told us they can't use verifly until 11 am. Also in San Juan we were asked to show our vaccination records, so I'm glad I had paper copies anyway.

Isn't that the kind of crazy stuff we all seem to run into?! I'd imagine the system is operational 24/7, perhaps they were waiting on tech support (or some person familiar with the system) to arrive.

I know, it was weird. I asked why and the check in guy just shrugged. I had it pulled up on my phone ready to go!

We sailed on the Mardi Gras 3/5 and also had a 10 AM checkin and were told the same thing. It took 15 minutes of standing around until someone came by and signed off on our paperwork. Stood around 10 minutes waiting... Others in our group said they sailed right through the same time with Verifly. I guess it's luck of the draw on who you check in with that has training on verifly. It was a little frustrating as we dealt with a clunky app to finally get it approved only to not even be able to use it. Glad we printed everything out.

So this is very strange.  Both my Carnival profile and Verifly have the full spelling of my name, the booking for some reason has the shortened version.  Verifly lists the "trip" with my shortened name.  It accepted the vax card with the full name, but rejected the test as it stated the first name didn't match.

Had to call Carnival to change my name to the full spelling, they updated it, then I had to add a new trip in Verifly, when I did so, the Health Assessment which I never took, was checked as complete...Then I had to re-populate the Vaccination Card data again.  All and all I'm now "Ready to Sail" but there is room for a lot more automation and improvements.  Specifically there should be the option to save your vax card for future sailings and they should be able to automatically verify the Abbott/eMed test without a manual review.

Boarded from Tampa using VeriFLY, couple ahead of us didn’t use VeriFLY.  Pretty much exactly as stated before, check in rep looked at the VeriFLY screen for 3 seconds, looked at the couples vax card and test results on their phone screen for 3 seconds each.  Therefore there’s hardly any benefits to using VeriFLY since carnival has already streamlined everything.

Our Verifly-less 3/11 Liberty boarding (doc check process) took several minutes - admittedly, not the end of the world. The first person looked at everything and put their stamp on it, then they had to call over someone else, once they were free, to look over things and put their stamp on it...
