Is anyone able to tell me if the Jade and the Gem have a machine like this in the Casino please?   Is it called a "coin pusher"?

Thank you

Mike

Thanks but I never play the machines!!!   I am a coin collector and when those machines are on board I can use the casino to turn quarters into bills!!!

I live in New Zealand and haven't been to the USA for about 4 years due to Covid and have a number of quarters to exchange.

You can turn 15-20 quarters into !a single $1 bill at best.  They pay VERY little cash, mostly tokens for more play.

You should be there in the early morning, when they take most of the coins out of the machine, move the dollar bills back, so they never reach the edge. Then watch all the suckers play it.

I remember on one of my cruises about 30 years ago when ships vibrated a lot more. I would stand next to the coin pusher machine when they turned on the machines in the morning. As soon as the machine started, it would push several coins into the winning tray. I would take the money and play the slots.

Along with the Sega Key Master. They are touted as games of skill. There is no skill involved. The factory default setting is one win every 700 plays, which can be reset by the casino up to 9999 plays per win.

I know we're now going to hear from those who won an I-Pad, a tablet, or a certain amount of cash and how skillful their play was. The truth is, they were just in the right place at the right time. Just like a slot machine!!

Exactly so why bother with those rip off machines?

I agree with the person who said the key game is the biggest rip off. Although I have seen a woman win on it. It is pure luck. Her husband couldn't believe it. He had played and was much better at lining up the key with the hole, but she ended up with the win. Lining up the key seemed to make no difference.

As far as the coin game goes, it is fun to play and your money lasts longer than it would on most slot machines. I don't usually play it, but my husband enjoys it. That is why people play! It is entertainment and some people just want to have some fun.

My wife enjoys it, too.  She says it's very calming.  She has a knack for winning us a bottle of wine each cruise.

Without the machine they would not exchange the quarters.

Wouldn't they take your rolled-up quarters at Guest Services as payment towards your bill? Cash is cash, no matter what form it's in.

I will have to ask there, hadn't thought of that.   If they would it would be interesting to find out just how many!!

Mike

I don't think there would be a limitation on what they would accept. I think the limitation would be on your end, due to the sheer weight of rolled coin. Especially if you have to fly. You wouldn't want to lose the exchange rate advantage due to increased baggage fees.

False, the machines in question do not give out quarters, only tokens for more play (other than the EXTREMELY infrequent) small clip of bills... The casino will exchange coins for cash at any time and as has been pointed out, guest services will take the coins as payment towards your account.
