It's all good brother. It's a big kid's world (I know you know this). Good men can spar a bit and have a drink at the end of the day. I don't keep a score sheet. I'll go toe to toe with somebody today and give them a few "likes" tomorrow. It's just the freakin' internet, and we're all here because we love crusin... 😎🐀
Trimone Posted July 11, 2022 #53 Share Posted July 11, 2022 I always pay upfront on a balcony, then when I get upgraded to suite or haven they don’t go up, they stay at the original cost.

I thought that the charge stayed the same if you are upgraded, regardless of whether you have prepaid it.

Keith in my paperwork in the aft penthouse suite it was all quoted at $20 a day, I only paid $16 from my original booking?

dcipjr Posted July 13, 2022 #61 Share Posted July 13, 2022 I usually pre-pay the service charge about 1 week before leaving, just to make it easier to simplify the folio / statement at the end of the cruise. I will pay it earlier if the DSC is going up, or if I'm making a competitive bid on an upgrade that (if awarded) will raise my DSC.

What are you talking about? If you prepay your service charges that protects you from an auto repair or plumbing repair? I might need a flow chart for that one. 🤣 (btw: I drive a newish Toyota and I rent, so I don't lose sleep over either one of those other things😎). On our last cruise, we booked an excursion in advance. When we got on the ship, we received notification that it had been cancelled and that the funds would be credited to our on board account. My first thought was "oh crap, now I'll need to figure out how to get those back at the end of the cruise." My second thought was "wait a tick, our daily service charges will be applied to our account, so those will consume the refunded SHOREX and I won't need to mess with it." So, there can be two sides to that coin. 😎 Edited July 13, 2022 by ChiefMateJRK

Would paying bills a month ahead prevent car and plumbing problems? If people's cash flow is that restricted, why are they spending money on cruises and debating prepayment of daily charges? Rare cruiseny4life Posted July 13, 2022 #67 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Whoa!!!! @ChiefMateJRK I would have been nicer to you a few weeks ago if I knew you were jesus!!! Why didn't you say so. 🙂 To be fair, I'd be not searching for some goons if grandma were in trouble with the mob.

complawyer Posted July 14, 2022 #73 Share Posted July 14, 2022 this is like the tipping thread.. pre-pay if you want to, dont prepay and pay at the end. there is no upside or downside to either, other than you'll have a cheaper bill at the end
