No one was ever banned.  You made the choice not to follow Carnival's rules.  Get your facts straight.

Banned, restricted, decided, warned by a physician not to get the vaccine, all semantics. They could not give Carnival their money and sail.

My apologies you are correct. This was just posted to my cruise. I'm vaccinated but many are not.

Sorry, haven't been on since my last post.  I'm glad to hear that what I read was correct.  lol.  We are going next year August, so hoping everything everywhere is lifted.

I honestly don't know the state of demand for cruising. But I don't put much faith in headlines about increased bookings

Who knows? Only time and our wallets will tell.

.

Here is what the people who put their money where their mouth is are saying:

Stock up 15% in past month

Nothing I see shows any booking soaring. Must be a sales tactic.😏

So you are able to see capacity levels by ship and know the historical booking rates to be able to make your comparison to show no increase in bookings?  The only indicator the general public has is the general pricing and that is higher than it has been for quite a while.  That would indicate to me that bookings are up.

It's not semantics. The word "banned" indicated that people had no choice in the matter. People did have choices.  Some chose to not get vaccinated.  There are consequences to every decision.

Stock price reflects the market. Ccl ran up with the other stuff during the recent FOMO (fear of missing out rally) to overbought, now fed is saying stop it right now. We will raise rates until inflation is ramped down. Friday fed speaks. Stock price doesnt reflect current prices or have any relation to cruise prices very much. This week it's about the fed. Unless it's natural gas or oil its struggling.

Dont blame the stock price. Let's hope carnival is selling cabins like crazy and can at least speak to when they might be profitable again. ... though I sure wish jubilee prices would go on sale.

Protocols evolving even more so now for European Cruises.

GUEST ADVISORY

VACCINATION AND TESTING REQUIREMENTS UPDATE
CARNIVAL PRIDE & CARNIVAL CELEBRATION
EUROPEAN DEPARTURES - 2022

August 23, 2022

Dear Carnival Guest,

We know you are looking forward to your European sailing and want to update you on vaccination and testing requirements specific to your cruise, as follows:
  • As our protocols continue to evolve, boosters are encouraged but no longer required for guests who are eligible.
  • All Cruises (excluding itineraries with Greece and Spain):  All unvaccinated guests, age 5 and older, must provide the negative result of a lab-administered or supervised (by a medical professional), self-administered PCR or antigen COVID test taken up to 3 days before embarkation.
  • Cruises Visiting Greece:
    • All guests, 5 years and older, must present the negative results of a PCR test taken within 3 days before sailing or an antigen test within 2 days before sailing.
    • Vaccinated guests who are eligible for a booster but not boosted are considered unvaccinated and will be subject to additional testing on board which will be provided on a complimentary basis.
    • Due to destination requirements, a document of recovery will not be acceptable for cruises visiting Greece.
    • If a self-test is not supervised by a medical professional, it is not acceptable for travel to Greece.
  • Cruises Visiting Spain:
    • All unvaccinated guests, 12 years and older, need to present the negative results of a PCR test taken within 3 days before sailing or an antigen test within 2 days of sailing.  If a self-test is not supervised by a medical professional, it is not acceptable for travel to Spain.
We are currently working on updating our Have Fun. Be Safe. COVID-19 protocols webpage but wanted to share this information with you as soon as possible.

We look forward to welcoming you on board your Carnival cruise vacation shortly.

Sincerely,

$CCL may not get much money directly from casino guests (they don't pay for drinks, often don't buy excursions, etc), but the casino gets a lot of money from casino guests - and the casino pays a lot of money to $CCL.

We watched a documentary one time on the cruise lines.  Basically what they said, and what people don't realize is, the cruise lines do NOT make their money off the room you book - they make their money off everything else you buy.  Drinks, excursions, casino, shopping, specialty restaurants, etc.  That is what makes them money.

It's like the movies.  Your ticket doesn't even get them to break even - its the concessions you buy that makes a movie theater profitable.
