Anyone give me "the Good,the Bad, and the Ugly" about the Fantasy

Gonna be on the Fantasy July 8th with my 21 year old daughter-just us girls.

I've been on many of the big ships, now its the Fantasy's turn. What should I know about her? Thanks!

Sailed on her in January 2002 - very first cruise - it was fantastic! We had nothing to compare to, but the bottom line is (IMHO) is that you are cruising - how bad can it be?

 

I believe she's been in dry dock in the last 6 months or so (correct me if I'm wrong), so the carpet and paint was redone and I think I read that they put a piano bar in the main atrium like on the Paradise.

 

Go and have a blast!!!

Just got back from my second cruise on Fantasy April 29, and she is great! She was refurbished in Nov.'03, and I had no complaints. I went with just my friend and we had a blast! Make sure to eat dinner in the dining room each night...it's so special and fun and the food is good! Make sure to order the Lobster and Prime Rib! Say hi to our fabulous Maitre'D Mirko in the Jubilee dining room! If you eat breakfast on Lido deck at Windows of the Sea (buffet), make sure to ask them to make you an omlete instead of getting the pre-scrambled eggs...it was SO good! Make sure you go to Blue Lagoon in Nassau...it is truly paradise! Even if you don't snorkel or swim with the dolphins, but definitely go! (See my thread, "Bahamas Hickey")! Things not to miss...Karaoke bar, piano bar, get plenty of pictures made even if you don't want to buy them...it's fun just to go look at them in the photo center! Don't skip the evening shows in the Universal Lounge...they were very good, and the late night comedians were pretty funny too(just don't walk in late and sit in the front)! The majic show was entertaining, the show on the last night was the best! The Lido deck party was fun! Basically, everything they offered was good entertainment, and we loved the disco at night! The day at sea was really fun on Lido deck, make sure you get a chair early if you want to watch the games up close. Book your excursions as soon as you board to avoid sell-outs or long lines. All in all, I think you will have a great time! Let us know how you liked her!

Was on the Fantasy twice last year and will be going again over the Labor Day weekend. I have some photos in my webshots address below.

 

The ship received a twenty-five million dollor refurb in October of last year and she came out looking great. I have found her crew to be some of the most friendly of the Carnival fleet. Have a great cruise.

I sailed her on Mother's Day with Mom and sister. We had a good time. The two production shows were excellent. Embarkation and debarkation were quick. Not much ship movement. I would not mind cruising her again.

I love the Fantasy and everything about her. I'm going on June 6th and haven't been on her since right before the overhaul.

 

I can't wait to sail her again! I've been on that ship 12 times and will sail her till they retire her!

Sushi is something new that was added to the Fantasy the last time I sailed on her. I understand the interior has been revamped since then also. I was on the Fantasy twice last year. The first time was over the July fourth holiday weekend and then again going into the week of Thanksgiving. This was right after the Fantasy came out of dry-dock. That was when I took the photos that are on my webshots account. I will cruising again on the Fantasy for the Labor day weekend. She makes a great ship for those quick weekend get aways.

This will be our first Carnival experience - the Fantasy - and after seeing Gordon's pics, I think we made the rigt choice. My hub and I will be taking our neice and her roomie on their first-ever cruise (26/27 yrs. old). They're so excited, as are we.

 

Hubby and I are never bored on a cruise, but as this is their first, I just want them to have the greatest time ever. Any suggestions?

 

(Gordon - are you a Florida Gator? We both graduated from there. Just curious.)
