American Queen Voyages™ President Cindy D’Aoust Expands Leadership Team

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Jan. 5, 2023 – American Queen Voyages™ part of Hornblower® Group, announces recent leadership additions as President Cindy D’Aoust builds her team to further advance the award-winning North American cruise line. Hospitality veteran, John Kingston, was appointed as Vice President of Human Resources in November and will now be joined by Angela Composto, Vice President of Marketing, and Alex Dormoi, Project Management Officer. These positions will all report directly to D’Aoust.

"We are building a leadership team of the most talented industry experts with the distinct skills and experience to lead and advance American Queen Voyages' success in 2023 and onwards,” says Cindy D'Aoust, president of American Queen Voyages.

John Kingston will be responsible for all aspects of American Queen Voyages human resources functions, including shoreside and shipboard efforts. He joins AQV with more than 25 years of experience in human resources with leading hospitality companies across the United States. Most recently, he served as the Regional Director of Human Resources for Dimension Hospitality and previously held regional HR leadership positions with high-profile resort properties including Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, Benchmark Hospitality Company: The Villas at Grand Cypress,  JW Marriott & Ritz-Carlton Hotel at Grande Lakes Orlando and the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center in Nashville.

Angela Composto will lead the marketing team as vice president, offering more than 20 years of experience in the cruise industry that perfectly poises her to implement creative marketing campaigns to continue positioning American Queen Voyages as a market leader. The longtime cruise executive has previously held the roles as Marketing Officer at Chief Outsiders, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations for Crystal Cruises, and Vice President of Marketing for Silversea Cruises.

Alex Dormoi joins American Queen Voyages as project management officer. Dormoi was previously the Senior Consultant, Business Strategy & Planning for Anew Recruit. Additionally, he served as Vice President, Strategy and Business Operations for Alpha Plus Transportation. He will be working closely with President Cindy D'Aoust to implement business-critical initiatives and develop tactical plans to organically grow individual business units.

John Kingston past connection with the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center in Nashville might explain why AQV is using that hotel for it's Nashville departure this July.

IMO Opryland is a bad choice for a Nashville Cruise. Downtown Nashville is a better tourist destination and would put us in a great entertainment district. The Opryland choice might be great for business relations but I think it leaves the passengers stranded.
