bbrady413 Posted February 25, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2023 Hello, myself, wife, and three kids (5 year old twin boys and 7 year old girl) are stopping in Nassau on Royal Caribbean in April. We were contemplating doing the beach break at the Blue Lagoon, but I’m reading that it’s overcrowded and the food isn’t great. Not sure I want to shell out $300+ for a beach and blah lunch and 45 minute boat ride from the ship. The other one I considered is Margaritaville since it’s so close to the ship, but read that my twins wouldn’t be big enough for the water slides and the beach is nothing special. Argh. Any other ideas? Should we just stay on the ship?
Rare LindaD22 Posted February 26, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2023 We were there last month. You could walk off the ship and head to the free public beach, Junkanoo, or use a cab; it’s about a mile away. Across from the terminal is an open-air market that’s fun to walk through. There’s a Senor Frogs on the way to the beach if you want to grab lunch there. We found Nassau to be clean and safe with friendly & helpful locals. NeedToVacation Posted March 4, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2023 You could also take a cab to their "zoo", Ardastra Gardens, if that's something of interest to your family. There is a flamingo show, and you or the kids could pose with a flamingo for a picture! Peacocks and hens are out walking around the grounds. There are unique exhibits, and it's not too big that you'd get tired or have to spend more than about an hour or two there. Ask the taxi driver to show you Saunders beach or Goodman's Bay - both are very close when you're leaving Ardastra. Then you could spend the afternoon back on the ship, where your water slides and lunch / drinks are all included.

Why would anyone bring five and seven year old children to Senor Frogs? Certainly not for the food. Or the atmosphere.
