cruisemom42 Posted March 18 #26 Share Posted March 18 It's just me, so if I don't pack, I don't go. I keep trying to teach Alexa to pack for me but so far it hasn't worked out.... 2
Hllb Posted March 18 #27 Share Posted March 18 My older kids (18,19) are on their own. They do have packing cubes to make it easy. My 13 yr old and my husband get their stuff together and I pack it. I check my son’s stuff, but not my husband’s, while putting it in cubes.

It seems some men are turning their packing responsibilities over to their spouses who in turn delight in telling their husbands how to dress. It's not a concept I'm familiar with either.

Just pack your own bag.

Happily married 50+ years.
cruisegal40 Posted March 20 #35 Share Posted March 20 When the kids were younger, I did the packing. One time I packed too early.... and forgot their underwear! One time hubs forgot his belt. He does his own and I do my own, but I do the toiletries. I have a list that gets changed up for each cruise. Metal hooks was my last add and I loved having them to hang hats, jackets and such on. Best purchase ever!
Philob Posted March 20 #36 Share Posted March 20 SWMBO packs hers & Kid. I pack mine. Then she tells me to take out stuff I probably won't need and will replace it with stuff that she probably won't need either.
Mike981 Posted March 20 #37 Share Posted March 20 My lovely bride. We are rarely lacking for anything and she does not over pack.

Z'Loth Posted March 21 #40 Share Posted March 21 My mother. 😭 Since my 81yo German-born mother lives with me, she prefers to pack my suitcase despite my protests. 1

SPacificbound Posted March 22 #42 Share Posted March 22 Two adults in this household and we each pack our own stuff.
Kiwi Brenda Posted March 22 #43 Share Posted March 22 I do the packing but my husband gets all his stuff ready. I certainly don’t tell him what to wear or take. We both acknowledge that I’m better at maximising space whilst minimising wrinkles 😁
DarrenM Posted March 23 #44 Share Posted March 23 Most of clothes are wrinkled to bits before I get there. Should probably take more care packing, but to be honest I dont really care if my shirts have creases where they dont usually have them. I am on holiday, so dont care if anyone else thinks my shirt needs ironing. They shouldnt be looking. And as suits dont make it into the case, then its really a minor issue anyway.
gregma60 Posted March 23 #45 Share Posted March 23 DW does all the packing except for the electronics stuff. I am in charge of the list to check off everything that gets packed. -gregma

I fold shirts in 1/2, sleeves folded over. Then roll them tight starting with the collar. Only takes a few seconds but when unrolled and hung they look perfect. Cotton, silk, polyester, blends everything I’ve tried works. Shorts and pants too. The benefit, other than being wrinkle free, is you can fill every crevice in your carry on and fit more stuff. You’re right that a few wrinkles is nobody’s business. Personally, I hate wrinkled clothes so I do this for me, not the spectators.
jacelyn Posted March 23 #47 Share Posted March 23 Adults pack their own. Kids pack their own but we check to make sure. I couldn't imagine packing my husbands luggage 😂

Sea Hag Posted March 25 #49 Share Posted March 25 We each pack our own. I hand him a small stack for cross-packing in his bag, and he hands me a small stack for cross-packing in my bag. We each sort out an even small stack for cross-packing in the day pack we use as carry-on.
Rare Mary229 Posted March 25 #50 Share Posted March 25 I provide DH choices and he selects. He has a list and is responsible to make sure I have that list in ample time.
